The process of nurturing and creating an audience is the biggest and perhaps the most challenging task of all cultural workers in Montenegro, the actress said. Varja Djukic at yesterday's media conference, on the occasion of the opening of the 15th International Literary Festival "Odakle zovem, Podgorica 2023", whose manager she is, and which is organized by the "Karver" bookstore.
With the goal of creating an audience, this year's festival slogan was set and reads "Emancipujm(t)o - The Man in Question". Speaking about whether and how cultural institutions provide support for the development of (young) audiences, in the field of literary, visual, musical, theater and film arts, Đukić emphasized the importance of connecting and cooperating with these activities, but also of thorough planning of work and articulation of all forces. She particularly emphasized the creation of an audience from the earliest years of life, but also the strengthening of support for creators, with an emphasis on performing activities.
Young guitarist Nađa Grdinić, the fourth-grade student of the Art School for Music and Ballet "Vasa Pavić" spoke at yesterday's press conference and emphasized the importance of her performance at tonight's opening of the festival, at 20 p.m. Immediately before the concert, Đukić will address the audience and ambassador of the Czech Republic in Podgorica Janina Hrebičkova, and the program will be officially opened by Grdinić with the composition "Zvona u svitanje", written by a classical guitarist from Spain Regina Sainz de la Maza.
"Not all people in Montenegro are aware of the importance of the work of music schools in the country, as well as the importance of the Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra, which is exactly why all these opportunities for making music are very important to us. We always choose a program that will be diverse, so tonight's performance will also be special", announced Grdinić.
The diverse program of the festival includes film screenings and talks about the film, and the producer Marija Nikcevic who is an advisor for international cooperation, promotion and placement at the Film Center of Montenegro (FCCG), announced the presentation of the research M.Sc. Sanje Jovanovic which will be discussed on Saturday. She revealed that the research brings answers to the questions of how we watch movies, what is the level of film education in Montenegro, what needs to be worked on and what kind of starting point to develop when it comes to the development of the film audience...
"The goals and main task of the FCCG is the development of film art, starting with film education, for the sake of the staff, but also for the sake of the audience, who can properly participate in the Montenegrin cinematographic system..." she said.
Đukić recalled the importance of introducing film education in schools. Professor of Montenegrin, Serbian, Bosnian, Croatian languages and literature and media literacy Miroslav Minic he followed up on all that by talking about media literacy, but also by sharing his experience from various engagements outside the classroom, among others from UnderhillFest.
"Media literacy connects everything we are talking about, due to the massive amount of data that young people receive, which is about 17.000 pieces of information on a daily basis, and all of this affects the attention and concentration of young people, including them as an audience. I hope that 'Film' will soon be a subject in schools, even as an optional one, because it is important", said Minic and said that he was glad that he was included in the program of the festival "Odakle zovem" as a program moderator.
Painter and cultural manager, director of the Museums and Galleries of Podgorica Vučić Ćetković spoke at the press conference about the achieved results of that institution during the previous four years, as long as he manages it, stressing that the topic that the festival deals with this year is particularly interesting, because it is exciting and inspiring.
"When we talk about emancipation, we should ask what it actually means for us, how we approach it and how we interpret it... The question of creating and developing an audience can be and is related to the concept of emancipation. In this sense, let's take into account the issue of education, supporting programs in institutions, work with children and young people, which is necessary. In that part, I think that there is a lack of a strategic approach, a continuous action of dealing with these issues, at the level of all institutions", pointed out Ćetković.
The festival lasts until the third of July, most of it will be located in the Karver bookstore, but also in the Cultural and Information Center "Budo Tomović" and in the Šipčanik Wine Cellar, and the complete program is available on their website where they come from.com.
