The champion of the Montenegrin National Theater (CNP) Slobodan Marunović received the Actor of Europe award for 2023 (Actor for Europe) at the 21st International Festival "European Actor" held in Prespa, North Macedonia, the CNP announced.
The jury, consisting of actor Meto Jovanovski, director Nazif Uslu, actress Elena Trajkovska and actor and university professor Atila Klinče, unanimously decided to award the annual European Actor Award 2023 to Slobodan Marunović for the performance of the play "Potonja ura Njegoševa".
The monodrama "Potonja ura Njegoševa" based on the text by Slobodan Tomović, directed by Blagota Eraković, which has been performed around the world more than 1.500 times, premiered in 1988 at the Montenegrin National Theater.
"The play shows the last moments of the life of the poet, philosopher, bishop and lord of Montenegro through his dramatic confrontation with death and philosophical questioning about death, fate, God, love and the meaning of his existence. During its 35 years of existence, the play won numerous awards and recognitions" , the announcement states.
