Predrag Zenović, president of the Budva Council for Culture, solemnly announced on Monday at the "Ćirilicom" festival that the Application Book for Budva's EPK candidacy for 2028 has been submitted.
After the exhaustive and very difficult process of Budva's candidacy, which went through several rounds, Zenović announced at the ceremony that the work had been brought to an end with a successfully submitted book that summarized the fantastic work of dozens and even hundreds of authors from the country and abroad.
The entire process, which operationally lasted almost two years, was led by Danijela Došljak, as project coordinator, on behalf of the Secretariat for Social Activities, and Zenović, as president of the Council for Culture of the Municipality of Budva, on behalf of the Municipality of Budva. Predrag Zenović, who led the candidacy project for the European Capital of Culture and was the manager of the development of the Budva Cultural Development Plan for the period 2024-2028, opened the exhibition "Reflections of Budva's past, from polytheism to Christianity" last night, and pointed out that there is no better place to announced the submission of Budva's candidacy for the European Capital of Culture for 2028.
In the crowded hall of the Church of St. Mary on the Cape, Zenović covered 2500 years of local history in his speech, talking about the importance of the excavations in the Budva necropolis and the extremely valuable exhibits that were found at that time, as well as the importance of the treasures of the Orthodox shrines in Budva.
The lecturer at the UDG University in Podgorica, Predrag Zenović, introduced the audience to the importance of the exhibition for Budva and the littoral, among other things, due to the fact that the Virgin Mary, the Virgin Mary, the Lady of Budva are at the center of both the theme and the location of the exhibition, which for a thousand years of the history of Budva of immeasurable importance. The exhibition was organized by Marko Kentera and Lucija Đurašković and is open until September 11.
