Selected winners of the "Exceptional Women of Montenegro" mural painting competition

A three-member jury chose conceptual solutions for painting the mural Svetlana Kane Radević in Podgorica, Jelena Vicković to Cetinje and Stan Tomasevic in Bar.

In July, the Center for Women's Rights, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Netherlands and the Capital City of Podgorica, the Municipality of Bar and the Capital City of Cetinje, announced a call for artists to participate in a mural painting competition that will represent the most significant women of the 19th and 20th centuries, which is realized within the project "Exceptional Women of Montenegro". The competition received more than thirty applications.

A conceptual solution was selected for the realization of the mural of Svetlana Kana Radević in Podgorica Miša Joskić, an artist from Podgorica.

Mišo Joskić was born on May 2, 1985 in Doboj, BiH. He finished art secondary school in Cetinje, after which he entered the Faculty of Fine Arts, also in Cetinje, Department of Graphic Design. He has always been interested in drawing, painting, illustration and street art, which he mainly does in addition to interior painting. He exhibited independently in Podgorica and Novi Sad. He lives and creates in Podgorica.

A conceptual solution was chosen for the realization of the Jelena Vicković mural in Cetinje Ksenija Borozan, a student of master's studies in sculpture at FLU Cetinje.

Ksenija Borozan, born in Cetinje, graduated from the Faculty of Design and Multimedia UDG in 2021. In the same year, he continued his studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cetinje, at the sculpture department. She participated in several group and solo exhibitions. She is the winner of the award of the Capital of Cetinje for the best student in the field of art in 2021. He is part of the winning team of the CRESCENTO project that implements the education and knowledge transfer program in the Adriatic-Ionian region.

For the realization of the mural of Stana Tomašević in Bar, the conceptual solution of the graphic designer was chosen Emine Nimanbegović.

Emina Nimanbegović was born in Bar. She received her master's degree in graphic design at the Faculty of Design and Multimedia, UDG in 2023. She participated in 24 group exhibitions and realized four independent exhibitions. In her artwork, she combines contrasting worlds to create a striking visual story. She is also a participant in several international symposia. She won the second prize for the Sveti Stefan Hotels logo. He lives and works in Ulcinj.

The decision was made by a jury consisting of: Svetlana Dragojević, visual artist, assistant professor of the Faculty of Design and Multimedia at the University of Donja Gorica, Katarina Vujović, producer and Tanja Markuš, visual artist, coordinator of the Culture Program of the NGO "Center for Women's Rights".
