Montenegro is small in the territorial sense, but three voluminous volumes of its art history unequivocally convey how big, impressive and complex Montenegrin spiritual existence really is, announced the Minister of Culture and Media, Tamara Vujović, at the presentation of the monograph "History of the Art of Montenegro". , held in the organization of the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts.
As announced by the Ministry of Culture and Media, Vujović said that works dedicated to the History of Art and lexicographic editions are a personal and cultural map of a climate in all its manifestations.
"Culture is the oldest and deepest archetype of human existence. And the very essence of culture lies in art, in artistic expression, language and form! The horizon of the importance of the demanding and ambitious "History of the Art of Montenegro" is unexamined. "A team of inspired academics, professors, scientists, associates worked together on it, led by the editor-in-chief, art historian, professor Dr. Aleksandar Čilikov," said Vujović.
She said that in the scattered and disjointed artistic heritage, Montenegro explains itself, its dramatic and historical course in the most beautiful and exciting way, and precisely the precise map of that civilizational path over a long period of time is brought to us by the monograph that we are presenting today with great joy.
She added that true scientific and artistic professionals worked on the monograph for three full years.
"We had to dive deep into the depths of centuries and epochs, collect, collect and classify all these works of art from the applied arts and intangible culture, and then present them within the modern and comprehensive chronology of this valuable monograph," said Vujović.
With reverence, she also mentioned our famous academician Pavle Mijović, who, as she reminded, with his famous book "Artistic Treasure of Montenegro", almost half a century ago, presented the path on which this unique History of Art of Montenegro was created.
