An exhibition of the famous cartoonist Goran Šćekić was opened in Kuslev's house on Monday, which is part of the fine art segment of the program of the December Art Scene event and will be open until December 15.
The Mayor of Podgorica, Olivera Injac, said at the opening of the exhibition that she is particularly pleased to open the exhibition as a reflection of the appreciation of the work of an artist who, for over three decades, uses the language of caricature, points out, warns, reminds, makes people laugh and enlightens, with a certain dose of humor, talking about the social and political reality in Montenegro. Burning.
"I hope that this exhibition by Šćekić will awaken our questioning and deeper thinking about everything that surrounds us, but also show us that words are not always necessary, but that art reflects the strength of a society," said Injac.
Professor Boris Brajović assessed that Šćekić, using micronarratives as a source of historical understanding through the art of caricature, built an alternative chronicle of conventional history.
"And how these alternative chronicles, through the mediation of the art of caricature, became a valuable marker of social tensions and aporias and moved from feeling the difference and distance of what we are and who we were, to what we are and who we are now, and to the feeling of recognition and closeness in that what and who we can be," said Brajović.
