The book "Marino and Borbikoni and Montenegro" by Nenad Stevović, published in Montenegrin and Italian, was the occasion of a cultural and diplomatic event in San Marino.
"Marino Borbikoni is one of the most respected San Marino personalities of the first half of the 20th century. A prominent professor, politician and intellectual, several times head of state, he was a great supporter of Montenegrin independence between the two world wars, as well as a promoter of the Pro-Montenegro Committee in San Marino," he reminds in the announcement of the Association of Montenegrins of Serbia "Krstaš".
The delegation of Montenegro, led by Ambassador Milena Šofranac Ljubojević, was received in audition to the Regency of the Republic of San Marino at the highest level. Captains Regents Filipo Tamanjini and Gaetano Troina, in addition to the author of the book, also received Dejan Vuković, Acting General Director of the General Directorate for Economic and Cultural Diplomacy in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"The Regency pointed out that the immeasurable value of freedom, the full affirmation of national identity, the strengthening of understanding, friendship and cooperation are the pillars of Borbikoni's thought, but also of the author of the study about him, political scientist, publicist and researcher Nenad Stevović, stating that this work represents a symbol that strengthens the history of solid friendship between the Republic of San Marino and Montenegro," the announcement states.
After the audience in the Publiko Palace, the book was presented in the Begni Palace to representatives of cultural and scientific institutions and the population of San Marino. In addition to the author, Montenegrin historian Vukota Vukotić and San Marino historian Werter Casali spoke.
Organizers cultural and diplomatic event are the Secretariat for Foreign Affairs of San Marino, the Embassy of Montenegro in Rome and the Ambassador of San Marino in Montenegro.
