140 years ago, on February 16, the first performance, "Slobodarka" by Manojlo Đorđević from Prizren, was performed in Nikšić, and two days earlier, posters announcing the event appeared. It is on February 14 that the Nikšić Theater begins with programs on the occasion of the great jubilee. In the hall of the theater, tomorrow evening, starting at 19 p.m., an exhibition of written materials and photographs from the history of theater life in the town under Trebjes will be opened, entitled "The Way of Freedom".
"In cooperation with the Archives of Montenegro, we came across documents that testify to the richness of the heritage, which again has its deep roots in the layers of folk poetry and lost history. Amazed and enraptured by that wealth, through this exhibition we glimpse only a small part of the treasury of cultural treasures that foreshadows and encourages new creation," the theater announced.
An hour later, a formal academy directed by Radisav Jevrić will be held, which will be filled with rich stage content.
"The Academy will be marked by segments from carefully selected plays from the long history of theater life in Nikšić. On stage we will see old and proven forces of the Nikšić scene, as well as new and young actors. Along with episodes of the director's and actors' miniatures, the quartet of the Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra will also perform, and we will hear a letter of welcome and greetings from public employees of our city, as well as from the top of the state," reads the announcement of the theater.
As the director of the academy, Radisav Jevrić, said earlier at the press conference, it will be a segmental part that will range from romanticism to contemporary theater, and the theater story will be composed of excerpts from four theater plays that marked the life of the Nikšić theater in different periods. . These are the indispensable "Slobodarka", from which it all started, and which will be presented as a multimedia story where the character of Stojana will be interpreted by the actress Maja Stojanović.
A part of the play "Waiting for Godot", which was played at the end of the seventies of the last century, will be shown, and will be brought to the stage by Dobrilo Boban Čvorović and Mihailo Perošević, an excerpt from the "Museum of the Bicycle Uprising", which will be performed by Nebojša Ćićo Vulanović and Velizar Kasalica, as and a monologue from the play "Pluća" interpreted by Stevan Vuković.
The program will be hosted by Nikšić actors Anja Drljević and Matija Memedović.
