World Poetry Day is being celebrated in Budva today

World Poetry Day, March 21, will be celebrated in the National Library of Budva today, with a traditional performance by Budva artists, at 18 p.m., in the hall of the Academy of Knowledge, as in previous years.

Established and unestablished poets and musicians from Budva will participate in the poetic and musical marathon. They will read their verses: Zorica Joksimović, Lucija Đurašković, Mišo Gaćinović, Milan Stanišić, Sandra Đurbuzović, Vera Mačić, Nada Krivokapić, Sanja Vilus, Danica Lončarević, Miloš Boreta, Vesko Milović, Nemanja Đorđević, Tijana Kotarac, Aleksandra Vucetić, Branko Žerajić, Maja Radović Stanišić, Tatjana Kuljača, Krsto Stevović, Nataša Dimić, Dragana Pribilović, Danijela Jokić..., as well as the reciter Ljubo Marković.

"In addition to the author's reading of poems, in a classic, but also unconventional way, on the occasion of World Poetry Day, we will pay attention to the collaboration of poetry and other media, in this case music. In the musical part of the program, the following will perform: Nemanja Đorđević-Necke, Branko Žerajić, Tijana Kotarac and the duo Nikola Vuckovic (piano) and Dušica Kordić (violin)", the announcement states.

World Poetry Day was declared by UNESCO on March 21, 1999 with the aim of promoting the reading, writing, publication and study of poetry throughout the world. At the declaration of the holiday, it was said that recognition and encouragement should be given to national, regional and international poetic movements.

"On this occasion, as on many other similar occasions, we emphasize the timelessness and topicality of poetry and poetic thought," said the Budva Public Library.
