Tivat Music Festival from June 28

The creative team of the KotorArt International Festival and the Tivat Music Festival Foundation, with the support of the Tivat Culture Center, announced a new music festival designed as an artistic and educational platform whose mission, in addition to the realization of the music program, is the creation of content throughout the year in the domain of participatory art and audience development , and preservation and improvement of local heritage.

The opening of the festival is planned for June 28 in the hall of the Cultural Center, with an opera revue program in which the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, conductor Samra Gulamović and soprano soloists Valentina Elizabeta Silje and tenors God, Jurić Pešič i Tomislav Jukić. Special guests are the soprano Petra Radulović and bass Sava Vemic.

The repertoire of the Tivat Music Festival brings programs for the youngest, as well as opera concerts and recitals, jazz concerts, presents eminent as well as new ensembles and musicians from all over the world, with a focus on those whose origin is from Montenegro.

"Young artists will also be represented in the Port of Art program segment, intended for busking artists, who will turn public city spaces into places of living art, visible and accessible to everyone, during the entire duration of the Festival," the organizers added in the announcement.

TMF has five basic goals, according to the organizers...

"Developing an audience for musical art through carefully designed and high-quality programs; strengthening the capacity of the local music scene at the level of the Municipality of Tivat through gathering, presenting and cooperating with different profiles of music professionals (composers, performers, music writers) and amateurs from Tivat, as well as through initiating the establishment or revival of various musical ensembles; positioning Tivat as a special artistic center of Boka Kotorska through generating the potential of professional and amateur musicians of Boka Kotorska, through initiatives to form the chamber ensemble "Boka" and the City Choir, and through the presentation of some of the most important national, regional and international artists of today, as well as the promotion of local youth talents; support and promotion of female creativity; reliance on local heritage, above all on the poetic creativity of a prominent Tiv woman Maje Perfiljeve (1941-2019), in the domain of musical interpretation of her work through various genres and forms (solo song, choir, chamber ensemble, pop music)," the announcement reads.

The festival will close on August 12 with the premiere concert of the Tivat City Choir. Entrance to most concerts will be free, organizers announce.
