Redefining the concussion should make it easier to work on the independent scene, and institutional support should be more specific, it was said at the panel discussion "Sustainable independent scene: Are we going in the same direction?", organized by the Ministry of Culture and Media (MKM) in Cetinje.
This was announced by the Ministry of Interior.
The director of the Royal Theater "Zetski dom" Luka Radović said that the creators of the independent scene showed that art always finds a way, that it survives and added that 16 productions of the independent scene were shown in that theater last month. "The theater was alive, the audience was satisfied and we, as hosts, showed breadth and expertise and set a good example to other theaters and the Cultural Center of how to help those who are creators of the independent scene," said Radović.
The director, Mirko Radonjić, said that it is more difficult to work and create on the independent stage and that it is not good to cancel the access of the civil sector to the competition for cultural and artistic creativity.
"This made the split between what institutional culture is and what independent culture is even more felt, and that is a mistake that costs us dearly. An institution exists for its own sake, it exists to be sustainable, and creation always implies an approach that undermines , questions and does not accept the status quo. Competitions for creativity should be opened for the civil sector, or the existing competitions that exist for the non-governmental sector should be redefined," explained Radonjić.
The playwright, Sandra Vujović, explained that in cases where there is no institutional support, everything becomes a special challenge and artists rely on their imagination, ability to adapt on the fly and the process takes months.
"The consumer of culture consumes what you give him. I believe that it is the responsibility of all of us together, and first of all the institutions, to think in that direction, to see what it is that we offer in our cultural centers. Institutional support could be much more concrete. What is created on the independent scene should reach the audience and cultural centers should be obliged to perform it. Quality projects are created on the independent scene, but the audience remains deprived of quality content," Vujović explained.
She said that she likes to create on the independent scene, but she would like that creation to be made easier so that the quality of the projects would be even better.
The actress, Anđelija Rondović, said that she has been on the independent scene for 10 years, that she teaches at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts and believes that there should be regular competitions so that artists can fight for their creativity and ideas.
"I am glad that I am recognized as someone who works for and in an NGO. In independent production, we have greater freedom of research, choosing topics that interest us, there is no censorship, and that is why it is good that this independent production is found in institutions," Rondović believes.
The Ministry of Culture and Media announced that the participants of the panel discussion were greeted by the Minister of Culture and Media, Tamara Vujović, and that representatives of the Ministry of Culture participated in the discussion.
