Writer Goran Radojičić from Nikšić won third place at the tenth Sarajevo Children's Art Festival (FEDU) for the fairy tale "The Secret Land and the Knight with the Magic Bow". That was the decision of the jury of writers composed of Muhidin Šarić, Fahrudin Kučuk and Lidija Sejdinović. The first place went to Jagoda Ilinčić, a writer from Tuzla, for the fairy tale "The Bravest Girl in the World", while the fairy tale "Kliker Trčko" by the writer Ismet Bekrić from Ilirska Bistrica won second place. The prize will be awarded to them at the closing of the aforementioned Festival, which will be held from May 3 to 7.
Radojičić is the president of the Literary Club "Poenta Poetika" which operates at the "Zahumlje" JU, a member of the Association of Montenegrin Writers for Children and Youth, as well as the responsible editor of the children's magazine "Osmijeh".
"The award I received is a recognition of the profession, a jury consisting of renowned writers from Bosnia and Herzegovina. I am pleased that Montenegro has a representative among the awardees this year as well. This is confirmation that Montenegrin children's literature has a quality that is comparable regionally. The fact that the first prize was awarded to Jagoda Iličić, one of the most widely read writers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the second prize to a writer from the book, the famous Ismet Bekrić, both friends of 'Smile' and the Association of Montenegrin Writers for Children and Youth, which represents additional satisfaction. It is an honor to be in such a company," said Radojicic for "Vijesti".
FEDU is a festival of dramatic, literary, musical and artistic character, which affirms creativity for children, but also children's creativity, so authors from the entire region participate in the competition part, while a special category is intended for elementary school students.
Radojicic's fairy tale "The Secret Land and the Knight with the Magic Bow" tells about struggle, perseverance, the eternal conflict between good and evil.
"Although it rests on universal motifs, this fairy tale brings motifs that are close to children, introduces the world of technology in one, perhaps, interesting way, and all in the service of forming a fairy-tale, fantastic chronotope. The main character Dam-Lu-jan, a knight with a magic bow, is a five-year-old boy who is shaped by modern trends, grandfather's advice and a natural urge for exploration and adventure. It is the trigger for his journey to the Secret Land", Radojičić gave hints of what little readers can expect from his fairy tale, which he still cannot say with certainty that it will be published.
Radojičić writes poetry, prose, scientific works, essays and literary criticism. He is the editor and proofreader of numerous editions of popular domestic and foreign books. He studies the period of Renaissance and Baroque Montenegrin literature, but also the contemporary regional literary scene. In co-authorship with his wife Milica, he published a collection of poetry for children "Carousel Wonders", and currently the two of them are implementing interactive workshops called "Childhood is the most beautiful carousel wonder", with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Media.
