The Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Montenegro announced that Esen Pojatić, a master's student at that faculty, won the first prize at the International Sculpture Exhibition "Premio Edgardo Manući" in Italy.
The awards ceremony was held on May 25 in the Teatro Misa, followed by the inauguration of the exhibition in the Palazzo dei Priori in Arćevia.
"The jury, composed of professors, organizers and experts in art, presided over by the prominent curator Professor Stefano Papetti, in whose work the dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Professor Marko Marković participated, awarded the first, second and third prizes, as well as an honorable mention to the students to the participants of the exhibition," the announcement states.
In addition to Pojatić, FLU was also represented at the exhibition by students Teodora Raičević and Mila Bera, under the mentorship and selection of professor Željko Reljić.
In the accompanying catalog of the exhibition, Reljić pointed out that "Esen Pojatić strongly depicts expressed surfaces, imprinted in a simple compositional scheme, which form a kind of contemporary totem".
"The international award for sculpture Edgardo Mannucci was created with the aim of improving the culture and creativity of young artists-sculptors, intended for students of Italian and foreign academies of fine arts, in order to stimulate them in the development of their artistic career," the announcement reads.
The exhibition was organized by the Municipality of Arćevija i wheelwrights club, under the auspices of the Regional Council and the Marka Region. The award, named after the sculptor Manucci, one of the most important Italian sculptors of the 20th century, has reached its 31st edition.
"At this year's edition of this prestigious award, the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Montenegro had the honor of being an international participant at the invitation of the organizers. In addition to our faculty, Italian academies from Urbino, Macerata, Carrara, Aquila and Naples also took part," it is stated. in the statement.
The winner of the first prize, Esen Pojatić, in addition to the monetary amount, is given the opportunity to organize an independent exhibition next year, which will be held in the same period of the next edition of the award.
