At today's session, the Jury for the Thirteenth of July Award established a list of 28 candidates for lifetime achievement and 28 candidates for the annual Thirteenth of July Award who, from a formal and legal point of view, meet the conditions for awarding this award for this year.
"According to the Law on State Awards, the Jury for awarding the Thirteenth of July Award can award the Thirteenth of July Award for Lifetime Achievement and a maximum of three Thirteenth of July Awards as annual awards in 2024, with the provision that only one annual Thirteenth of July Award for 2024 can be awarded in one area. ", reminds the jury in the announcement.
The annual Thirteenth of July Award for 2024 is awarded to a citizen or citizen of Montenegro, a group of persons or a legal entity based in the territory of Montenegro, for results of exceptional importance for Montenegro, achieved in the year preceding the awarding of the award, in the fields of cultural and artistic creativity , sports, natural and social sciences, economy, ecology, i.e. for works or accomplishments in all areas of work and creativity that contribute to the development and affirmation of Montenegro.
Only one annual Thirteenth of July Award can be awarded in one area. 2023 is considered to be the year preceding the awarding of the award.
The Thirteenth of July Lifetime Achievement Award is given to a citizen of Montenegro, who marked the time in which he lived with his work and activities, whose creative path is rounded and whose works and creativity represent the recognizable and permanent good of Montenegro.
Exceptionally, the Thirteenth of July Lifetime Achievement Award can also be awarded to a person who is not a citizen, i.e. a citizen of Montenegro, and is originally from Montenegro, who, in addition to the condition that his work and activities marked the time in which he lived and whose creative path is rounded , that the works and creativity represent the recognizable and lasting good of Montenegro, contributed to the affirmation and popularization of Montenegro and its cultural-historical context through his work and activities.
