Promotion of the book "Words that travel", by the author Miša Drašković, will be held tomorrow, July 11, in Nikšić, in the "Zahumlja" hall at 19 p.m.
The book "Words that travel - Stories from two centuries" was published by the Book Community (KZ) "Vladimir Mijušković" from Nikšić and Radio-television Nikšić. The reviewer is the president of the CC "Vladimir Mijušković" and a writer Spasoje Bajović, editor Jovan Draskovic, and the drawings are signed by dr Miodrag Vilotijević.
Participating in the program: Director of Radio-television Nikšić Nikola Markovic, reviewer Bajović, journalist Svetlana Mandic, actor Radojica Stanković, writer Sofija Simović and author Drašković.
"On the pages of the book, records from two centuries were found. From the time when we were comrades and more recent times, when we became gentlemen. But comrades and gentlemen, unfortunately, it seems to me, there are fewer and fewer... Among the stories from the past and present century, there are also more recent stories, about which the readers will make the most just judgement", wrote Drašković in the introduction.
He pointed out that the book "Words that travel" is his "small contribution to the Nikšić homeland, to which I wanted to repay at least a little".
"Well, let these words be witnesses of past and present times and a cure for forgetfulness," says the author.
The reviewer Bajović noted that in the new book of selected stories, conversations and writings by Miša Drašković, we will meet many characters from Montenegro and beyond, who thus continue to live a new festive, spiritual life.
"In the introductory part of the book, Mišo Drašković sends the reader an unforgettable postcard about Nikšić, as he remembered and experienced it while walking along its streets. It depicted his ups and downs, his developmental successes and failures. Reading, one wonders who we are and what we are, we are tempted to think about what to do and how to live in these dangerous, not at all safe areas of the Balkans", noted Bajović.
He reminded that the book was mostly written in the time of "that great Yugoslavia", and now it has once again gathered "unforgettable characters, warriors, suffering friends, to travel together through time".
"Drašković's stories are inhabited by honorable, well-intentioned people, proven humanitarians and patriots, such as Mileta Božović, Radoš Vilotijević, Raco Mijanović, Rade Kosović, Maca Đerković, Komnen Kostić. Between the covers of this book shines the name and work of a tireless businessman and benefactor Cana Koprivica. The "Onogošta" terrace and the famous city taverns have always been a meeting place for famous Nikšić residents, comedians, and bohemians, where unforgettable stories, jokes, and anecdotes were shared. Even today, honest meetings and socializing continue in the prestigious club "Zahumlje". They are always there at the assembly point: Luro, Mišo, Tugomir, Milan, Maksim, Raco, Rade, Maja, Draško and others who, with a glass of drink and human conversation, make this fleeting life more beautiful and richer", noted Bajović, who concludes that Drašković is "an objective, impartial participant, a chronicler of various events in his time".
