Piva has become a place where, not only, one hears the word of poetry, but one also hears the word about poetry. It has become a kind of small center for the study of contemporary poetry, said dr Jovan Delic during the 53rd "Poetry meetings at the source of Piva", a literary event that was held in Plužine during the weekend.
Thanks to this event in Piva, verses have been floating for decades, poets write letters about poetry, and the most successful young poets receive awards. One of them is Teodora Čukić from Beran, winner of this year's literary award "Spasoje Pajo Blagojević". That was the decision of the jury composed of: a writer Radomir Uljarević and poets, two Milice, King i copper, and the award was presented by the director of the Plužine Cultural Center, Milenko Mićanović.
"As someone who is just at the beginning of literary creativity, I consider every form of presence and participation in such events a privilege and an opportunity for further advancement. Awards and recognitions are satisfaction for us young people, support in preserving culture and true values. Literature deserves to be loyal to it and preserve its place in the social community, regardless of digitization and the time to which we belong. I firmly believe that we are succeeding in this, so events like this are only a confirmation", said Čukić and "honored" those present with verses that will be bound and printed by the Center for Culture next year.
I Jovana Tomic, a student of the Secondary Vocational School "Spasoje Raspopović" from Podgorica, is devoted to poetry, and her talent was awarded by a jury consisting of poets - Ranko Mićanović, Nebojša Ćićo Vulanović i Mirko Lale Damjanović and awarded her the "Radule Željko Damjanović" award.
"It is a great honor for me to be this year's winner of the award named after the great writer, Radul Željko Damjanović. I am very glad that I have the opportunity to participate in such a big festival for the first time this year", said Tomić.
The award was presented to her by the sister of the poet after whom the award is named, a poetess Sofija Simović, who reminded of Damjanović's creativity and wished the winner to continue successfully "treading" the poetic waters.
This year's meetings will also be remembered for the collection "Young poets at the source of beer".
"For the first time, this literary event has its own young poets, who bring it back. In this book, a poetic youth is collected with its poetic words, different sensibilities, poetic knowledge and manners. 19 of them made a great contribution to contemporary literature with their selections of five or six poems each. They entrusted their verses to the source of Piva - the climate that always gave birth to and inherited the most fundamental word, the most British verse, infallible and sure torrents", said the poet Milica Bakrač during the presentation of the anthology.
She pointed out that young poets who are not natively connected to Piva, but with poetic love and respect, donated verses to the source of Piva, as it says in the title, the source of poetry, language, the source of a lasting beauty.
Poet Milena Kulic, who prepared the collection, pointed out that it is nice that they have the opportunity to offer such a support to Piva, since Piva has given them a lot.
"An honest attitude towards poetry, literature, towards the science of literature is something that characterizes the people gathered in this book. These are already established poets, scientists and those who are just entering the world of literature. The book was published for two reasons - firstly, to thank Piva, to give her our gift in poetry, and secondly, to show what kind of poetry young people have to offer, in what way they communicate with what is part of us, which is part of our literary history , our poetry. In this book, you can clearly see the dialogue between the past and the present", said Kulić.
During Poets' Meetings, a two-day poetry meeting, another anthology, "Struna Bruji", was presented. It is about the collection of works of Fr Đorđe Nešić, which were presented during last year's symposium on criticism of his literary work.
"It is about a poet who will have his honorable place in Serbian contemporary poetry, a poet who has already been proven and will continue to prove himself. His poetry is in a very close relationship with reality. "Despite the fact that poetry is autochthonous and has its own independence, nothing hinders its autonomy if it is closely related to life", said the editor of the anthology, Jovan Delić.
"Everyone who writes cares about readers and interpreters, and this collection is proof that what I do is not in vain," said Nešić and reminded that the first collection of works on his work was published in 2016.
During the first day of the meeting, according to tradition, the writer Ranko Mićanović presented the latest editions of the people of Pivlja from Montenegro and the region, who submitted their works to the Plužine Center for Culture. It is a literary mosaic of 15 titles.
In the local poets segment, Mirko Lala Damjanović, Sofija Simović, Slavojka Vojinović i Jovan Glomazić.
On the second day of the poetic meetings, a symposium was held on criticism of Milutin Mićović's literary work, and about twenty prominent literary creators, critics, academics and professors presented Mićović's rich literary work - poetry, prose, essays and novelistic prose.
"Poetry comes out by itself. I already carry every word of yours inside me as an additional warmth, impulse and brotherly touch. I experienced another earthquake listening to your words about my earthquake, which is calming down", said Mićović.
Book Pavel Zeljić, last year's winner of the "Rescue Pajo Blagojević" award, was presented, as tradition dictates, during a boat ride on Lake Piva.
Creativity Milan Mihajlović it was presented as part of the poetic portrait segment.
"When we look at Milan Mihajlović's entire work, it is clear that it is a general great song that is Svetosava, Vidovdan, prayerful, spiritual, confessional, personal, loving, that is, a great song dedicated to the great and the holy. As the heroes of his songs, Milan Mihajlović chose rare and precious people and 'forged' Noah's ark for them, for the umpteenth time, in order to save them when there was a flood or a calamity which, it seems, has been bearing down on us for centuries. Instead Zoran Kostić, who had to cancel his guest appearance due to sudden health problems, the audience had the opportunity to hang out with Miroslav Aleksić, a poet who in his poetry "combines traditional and modern, history and everyday life, biblical and ancient motifs with contemporary existential dilemmas".
The curtain call on the 53rd Poetry Meetings, through which he expertly guided the audience and poets Željko Vuksanović, he put down Ivan Bosiljcic who presented himself with popular film and theater melodies. "It is no wonder that for 53 years the thread of poetic words has continuously inspired Piva, its peaks, depths, its beauty, wonderful people and the breadth of their hearts, because that poetic word here is somehow heard in a special, different way" , said Vuksanović. Poetry meetings at the source of Piva are organized by the Plužine Center for Culture under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Media and the Municipality of Plužine.
The eternal duration of Mijo Mijušković and submerged Piva
"Mijo used to say that Piva is not his hometown, but it is the hometown of his sculptures," said Jovan Delić during the sculpture exhibition "The missing beer" by the deceased sculptor Mijo Mijušković.
Although only a small part of the sculptures from the mentioned cycle was shown at the exhibition, it was enough, according to the writer Radomir Uljarević, for the audience to reconstruct in their heads, through "the convulsive embrace of stone and wood, a symbol of the union of heaven and earth, the unity of the living and the inanimate". sunken Piva.

Petrović - "a novelist on the macro plane, a lyrical poet on the micro plane"
This year's segment commemorating deceased writers was dedicated to Goran Petrović, a writer whose novels and collections of stories were published in more than 130 editions, of which 60 editions were translated into 15 languages.
"The critics showered him with accolades, and the audience with readings. And while each of his novels was eagerly awaited, he wrote the history of our literature with his works. He wrote stories and novels equally well, told stories about big topics and small things of the city he conquered," said Željko Vuksanović.
Academician Jovan Delić spoke about Petrović's character and work, who pointed out that he was a writer of "planetary literary value, a rare story-telling gift, rich imagination, broad culture, unpredictable flights into fantasy, a master in composing large forms, but also a master of details".
"A novelist on a macro level, a lyrical poet on a micro level. With his works, like his heroes, he easily flew over all four corners of the world. His prose confirmed its fantastic nature with its fantastic reception. Although we don't experience him as a storyteller, because his superb novels overshadowed his story-telling oeuvre, 20 of his stories are represented in anthologies in the country and abroad," Delić said.
