Before you is a story that combines legend and history, fiction and reality - an adventure that takes us to one of the greatest minds in literature, Miguel de Cervantes", says the playwright of the City Theater Podgorica Dragana Tripković who is signing the text of the play "Dulsine and Cervantes" in anticipation of tonight's premiere at the Cultural and Information Center "Budo Tomović" at 20 p.m., and the rerun is tomorrow.
She directed the play from Drama Scene for Children Snezana Trišić, and is intended for an audience over 12 years old. It is a "theatrical adventure that takes us to the world of imagination, courage and free spirit", says Tripković. The play brings a combination of courage, free spirit and art, while bringing to life the legend of Cervantes and the young pirate who defies the norms.
"Dulsineja is anything but an ordinary girl. With a sword in her hand, she is the embodiment of fearlessness, justice and free spirit, an example for all young dreamers who do not agree to compromises. He makes friends with pirates, fairies, even the wind itself, does everything for his city and those he loves. Dulcinea shows that sometimes you need to be different, stubborn and a little crazy to become a real hero. With vivid fight scenes, witty dialogues and unexpected twists, the story reminds us that strength is not found in weapons, but in the heart that is not afraid to love and fight", she announces, and that role is entrusted Larry Dragovic.
Dulcinea is the one who will be Cervantes' inspiration for one of the greatest works of world literature, says Trišić.
"If a girl had really inspired him to write that work, it would certainly have been our Dulcinea, fearless, brave and daring, the protector of the city, the one who fights for ideals, for the hungry and the poor, for justice and finally for love As in every adventure, she has to overcome and overcome many obstacles, demands, traps and problems and get rid of the enemy's clutches and save the city. forced marriage to Hasan - a dragon with seven heads, the magic of a self-interested stepmother, the riddles of a twisted Fairy... However, the greatest of all struggles will be to overcome the storm that is coming in her heart with sabers and swords, she learned to swordsmanship and tame the waves, but love remained the biggest obstacle and enigma for her," reveals the director.
The play incorporates the story of Cervantes' slavery in Dolcinium, i.e. Ulcinj, which gives the work a special layer.
"An old legend gets a new outfit - witty, unpredictable and completely enchanting. "Dulcinea and Cervantes" is an invitation to all young people to find their inner knight, to embrace adventure and not to forget that the spirit of freedom is contagious - and that it never stops guiding us, just like the wind that never stops," says Tripković.
Trišić, on the other hand, points out that the historical context and some possible truths about Cervantes' stay in Ulcinj were only the reason for creating this unusual story about love, courage and heroism.
"In this story, the heroine rescues the 'prince', and he frees her locked heart. Cervantes' arrival in Ulcinj will change not only Dulcinea, but the entire environment, which is steeped in trade, greed, warfare. Cervantes is the one who brings a slightly different view of the traditional positions and principles. His strength is in the tenderness and the verses he speaks, the ability to love the enemy's side if he is worthy of love. As a great swordsman and knight, he chooses to lead and fight with emotion, with poetry and song and so opposes pirate sabers, prejudices, machoism and harsh politics," noted Trišić.
All this is brought to the stage by the actors Lara Dragović, Emir Ćatović, Goran Slavić, Miloš Pejović, Vanja Jovićević, Omar Bajramspahić, Mina Mićović, Pavle Ilić, Stefan Vuković, Itana Dragojević, Vukan Pejović, Miloš Kašćelan, Milo Perović, Nada Vukčević, Ivona Raković, Anđela Radović, Danica Rajković, Sejfo Seferović , Andrea Drašković.
