In the Nikšić theater tomorrow evening, the monodrama "On the drini ćuprija" by Tihomir Stanić

Tomorrow evening, starting at 20 p.m., the monodrama "On the Drina Bridge" by Tihomir Stanić will be performed on the stage of the Nikšić Theater.

Stanić has been telling Andrić's thoughts and visions on various occasions for two decades, "charged with wisdom, historical truth, beauty and the spirit of a Balkan man".

"Acquiring circumstances, I got attached to this idea more than twenty years ago. In 1999, I worked for five months, five hours a day, and in the end I mastered one part of the novel 'On the Drina ćuprija', which I prepared together with Ljilja Mrkić Popović, Ph.D. often in front of an audience, but also in a pub without any reason... I have found in Andrić's work an inexhaustible inspiration for my professional life, training, and existence ever since I mastered the text 'On the Drina Bridge', and performed this play for the first time, on April 17, 2001. year, I never again had to worry about and endure the terror of any theater director, dictator, wrong manager... I ensured my existence, knowing that I could always speak Andrić's text to children and young people in schools. Out of great gratitude towards the writer and the work I read at an early age," wrote Stanić.
