"Mother Mara" in Nikšić

The feature film "Mother Mara" directed by Nikšić Theater will be screened tonight Mirjana Karanović. The program is implemented as part of a mini revue of minority Montenegrin co-productions. In her second directorial effort, Karanović is one of the screenwriters in the production of "Mother Mara", and she also plays the main role.

The Montenegrin co-producer of the film is a prominent director, whose film "Supermarket" is this year's Oscar candidate. Nemanja Bečanović (VHS Production).

"Mara, a successful businesswoman and single mother, is devastated by the untimely death of her son Nemanja. He becomes emotionally alienated and refuses to communicate with family and friends. After meeting Milan, Nemanja's close friend, she finds comfort and peace in her relationship with him. As the two get closer, they discover more and more facts about Nemanja's life and death, which gives Mari the opportunity to face her own life and emotions," the film's trailer says.

The film had its world premiere at the Pula Film Festival. He received a special award from the jury of the Federation of Film Critics of Europe and the Mediterranean (FEDORA).
