The State Archives of Montenegro, in cooperation with the Capital of Cetinje, the Ministry of Culture and Media, the University of Montenegro and the Berane Cultural Center, during November prepared a series of cultural events that promote the rich historical and social heritage of Montenegro through valuable archival documents and exhibitions.
In partnership with institutions and on the occasion of important dates, the State Archives of Montenegro guides us through time, highlighting the importance of past events and their impact on the development of contemporary Montenegrin society.
"All events represent an opportunity for citizens to deepen their understanding of past times and their echo in contemporary society through authentic archival materials. The State Archives of Montenegro proudly continues the tradition of preserving and presenting cultural heritage, inviting the public to join these unique events that celebrate the past as the foundation of the future," said the director of the State Archives of Montenegro. The exhibition entitled "Consular representations of Montenegro 1880-1914", which through the work of the author Vukota Vukotić i Jelena Nikolić revives the diplomatic past of Montenegro will be opened on November 4 at 19 p.m. in the premises of the Berane Cultural Center. By the way, this exhibition takes place as part of the "Duke Gavro Vuković Week: In Honor of the Duke's Legacy" manifestation, and it will show documents from the period when Montenegro's diplomatic relations began to strengthen on the international scene.
A day later, on November 5, the State Archives will enrich the program of the Day of the Capital in Cetinje with the exhibition "Woman... carrier of social development in socialism". Through the work of the author Biljana Drašković the exhibition will focus on the role of women in social processes during the socialist era, emphasizing its importance in community development. The exhibition will be set up in the multimedia hall of the Ministry of Culture and Media, starting at 12 noon.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the University of Montenegro, the State Archives, in cooperation with the University, will present its exhibition of documents "Establishment of institutions of higher education and science and formation of the University" (1947-1974), through the archives of the State Archives, author Željko Miranović, Predrag Adžić and Danilo Mrvaljević, on November 7 in the hall of the Technical Faculty in Podgorica, starting at 19 p.m., while on November 8, also as part of "Duke Gavro Vuković's Week: In Honor of the Duke's Legacy", the State Archives in Berane will hold a program, this time through video presentation "150 years of the Prince's Office for Foreign Affairs of Montenegro". This journey through the history of Montenegrin diplomatic institutions testifies to the long tradition of Montenegro's foreign policy and its role on the international stage. The program starts at 19:XNUMX in the Berane Cultural Center.
Rounding off the program, the publication "Crnogorska banka 11-1906", a collection of documents authored by Ivan Tepavčević, Jovan Muhadinović and Predrag Adžić. This promotion, scheduled for 18 p.m., sheds light on the economic and financial aspects of Montenegrin's past through documents that accompany the work of the first Montenegrin bank.
