Tango is more than a dance

Tango has always been a music and dance that has intrigued me. Although I don't dance the same, I always experienced an emotional catharsis when I heard him. I was trying to understand the emotion he carries and break it down into segments: nostalgia, patriotism, love, jealousy, passion, longing, passion for football. Through them, I dealt with the themes of love, sacrifice and loss, emphasizing the emotional strength and fragility of human relationships," the art historian told "Vijesti" Kristina Radovic.

During the realization of the multimedia project "Tango - About Heroes and Love" she "called" for help Ernest Sabbath, his life and works and with the help of artists from Nikšić, in 2015 they "danced" the tango and showed, as its creator said Enrique Santos Diespolo, which is why tango is a sad thought that is danced. "I found inspiration in the life and work of Ernest Sabat in the novels 'Tunnel', 'On Heroes and Graves' and 'Abaddon, Angel of Destruction', as well as essays, and especially in the book of memoirs 'Before the End', which represents his spiritual testament" , explains Radović.

She decided to "dance" "Tango" again this year, to enrich it both textually and with new participants and show "how mysterious the world is and how only superficial people can't see it" (Sabato).

And that tango is an emotion that conquers, everyone who filled the hall of the Nikšić theater to the last seat, who danced and sang together with the artists, knowing that "what will save us is love, because the world can't do anything, was convinced at the weekend." to the man who sings in misfortune" (Sabato).

"Everything seemed spontaneous, improvised and easy, but behind everything there is a long analytical process. The narrator was Michael Perosevic, who played Sabat, and the artists from Nikšić brought a diverse and diverse story about tango in a wonderful way, through fireworks of emotions", said the author of the multimedia project.

The musical and stage concept that Radović imagined included a combination of dance, music, and poetry, so there were a large number of artists on stage who fully succeeded in realizing the author's idea - to awaken emotions.

The multimedia project "Tango - About Heroes and Love" was performed as part of the November repertoire of the Nikšić cultural scene.

The organizer is the Public Institution "Zahumlje", with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Media and the Nikšić Theater.
