The film explores the need to belong and the return to the ancestral land of the great French composer of our roots. Janko's fascinating life story, translated into a screenplay structure on which we worked with eminent collaborators, has been an inspiration for us for several years, the authors state regarding the documentary project "The SAMPLE: The Return of Janko Nilović".
The project was presented at the French-Serbian film meetings held as part of the Original Film Festival (FAF) in Belgrade, which this year lasted from November 22 to 29.
"THE SAMPLE: Return of Janko Nilović", presented by the producer Milorad Radenović from Galileo production and co-producer Nevena Savić iz Cinnamon films.
"We are glad that we shot parts of this film in different locations that are key to the life of this great man," said the authors.
The Film Center states that the documentary, directed by Nikola Vukčević, is currently in post-production.
"The film's story follows the return of a renowned French composer of Balkan and Montenegrin roots to the land of his ancestors. Filming was carried out on locations in France, Turkey and Montenegro, with the support of the Film Center of Montenegro, and the project recently secured co-production funds through a public competition Radio and the Television of Montenegro," the announcement states.
They sign the script Nikola Vukcevic i Melina Pota, is a producer Milorad Radenović, while he was hired as the director of photography Bane Kljajić. He was in charge of the light Ilija Kaluđerović, and the sound recordist is Djoko Jablan. They found themselves in the production assistant team Cansu Carlak (Turkey), Sladjana Zaklan (France), Mila Nenezic, Nikola Čavor, Sara Lakicevic i Balša Pejović, while the assembly is entrusted Nikoli Egerić.
The presentation at the French-Serbian film meetings was realized with the support of the Film Center of Serbia.
