Journalist Svetlana Mandic she is the guest of today's 12th session of the "Imaginarium" project. The author of the project, art historian and editor of the program at JU Zahumlje will speak with Svetlana Mandić on the topic of "Pictures and Words" in the Concert Hall of the Dara Čokorilo Music School in Nikšić at 18.30:XNUMX p.m. Kristina Radovic.
The organizer of the forum is JU Zahumlje in cooperation with the School of Music, and as part of the December repertoire of the Nikšić cultural scene in 2024. Ovako Zahumlje continues with the project "Imaginarium" from cultural and artistic creativity, which includes a series of sessions, the main theme of which is the phenomenon of painting treated through various arts .
"The goal is to look at and affirm the contemporary art scene and criticism through the phenomenon of images, especially among the younger generations, to develop and suggest a valuable attitude about specific works of art. Renowned figures from the regional and national cultural and artistic scene will present themselves and talk about the phenomenon of painting in the program," the announcement states.
Svetlana Mandić was born in Nikšić, where she completed primary and secondary school, and then biology and chemistry as the best student at the Faculty of Philosophy. She worked as a teacher, and then at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Podgorica, she graduated, specialized and obtained a master's degree in journalism, where she is currently studying for a doctorate.
Since 2008, she has been working as a journalist for the Nezavisni dnevnik and the "Vijesti" portal, occasionally writing for the magazine of the Chamber of Engineers "Pogledi", as well as "Pivska riječ", and published several articles in "Komuni". She published three books: "When silence speaks", "For myself and for the soul of the city" and "Speak even when others are silent" and several scientific works.
For almost 15 years, she was a part-time assistant at the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education in Nikšić, department of sports journalism, on communication and journalism subjects. She is a participant in numerous conferences, seminars, workshops, and was a lecturer at many of them. She is the winner of numerous awards in the country and the region, among which are: "Pledge" of the "Vladimir Mijušković" Literary Society for the book "When Silence Speaks", first, second and third prizes for newspaper reportage at the International Festival of Reportage and Media - Interfer "Zlatna Nika" ", the first prize at the competition for journalistic stories on the topic of promoting the culture, tradition and language of Roma and Egyptians (NGO "Alfa centar"), the Special Award for Philanthropy "Iskra" for media contribution, the award for the best newspaper article on the process of accession of Montenegro to the EU for 2021 and 2020, annual reportage awards of the Society of Montenegrin Journalists for 2018, awards for the best investigative journalistic story about the importance and promotion of Nikšić field (NGO "Župa u srcu"), awards for the best journalistic story about an example good practices in the field of green economy in Montenegro (Network for Rural Development of Montenegro) and numerous other...
She was the president of the Society of Young Ecologists Nikšić, and thanks to her, the organization became recognizable in Montenegro as a fighter for a healthy environment. Under her leadership, ecologists from Nikšić published two issues of the magazine "Eko sat", and students from Piva published the magazine "Pivsko oko".
