The play “Hasanaginice”, an author's project Danilo Marunović produced by the National Theatre Sarajevo (NPS), will be performed today on the Main Stage of the Montenegrin National Theatre at 20 pm.
She is a playwright and playwright. Ksenija Popović, scenographer Marijela Hašimbegović, and costume designer Vanja Ciraj-Džudža. They play in the play Mak Čengić, Belma Salkunić Bektešević, Sanela Krsmanović Bistrivoda, Nerman Mahmutović, Mona Muratović, Ermin Sijamija, Jasna Diklić, Mediha Musliović, Milan Pavlović.
"No, this is not "Hasanaginica". This is a search for the answer to the question of who the Hasanaginica of today are. That is, who we are... We may not be tearful women who "hit the ground with their white faces" because of a broken heart, but that does not mean that we "do not part with our souls". We suffer a little less, we are much less silent, we have fought for a new freedom and a new order and now we are trying to find our way in it", are the words of author and playwright Popović.
Marunović added that it is a brutally honest performance.
"All those characters and all those plots, every conflict and every drop of humanity, was squeezed out of the experience of ourselves, the members of the team that created the work. While we were searching for the future play in our theatrical passion, during the dramatic process, we suddenly understood that we were already living it ourselves. Not only at home-privately, but also during rehearsals. And so, a theater group, which leaves its soul in those rehearsals, to the detriment of family, marital or some other harmony, told the story of marriage, in the form of a tribute to the phenomenon we know under the brand name "Hasanaginica". A charismatic female subversion whose echoes still reverberate through the centuries in an ultra-patriarchal culture," he wrote.
The play won the NPS awards for best artistic achievements in the 2022/23 season, and Mak Čengić won the award for best young actor.
The Sarajevo National Theatre visited the Montenegrin National Theatre in May last year with the play "There Is Only One Muhammad Ali", Almir Imširević, directed by Dino Mustafić, while the National Theatre visited the Sarajevo National Theatre with the play "Ibzen Machine", directed by Ana Vukotić which, with the playwright Željko Udovičić Pleština, "Ibsen Machine" brings together four works by the famous Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen.
