The play "Jelena of Savoy", which presents the inspiring character of the Montenegrin princess and Italian queen in a contemporary and different way, will be performed again before the Podgorica audience on Thursday, April 3, in the Dodest hall, at 20 p.m.
This is a play that KIC "Budo Tomović" is realizing in co-production with the Cultural Center "Nikola Đurković" from Kotor and the Korifej Theater from Kolašin.
According to the text Maria Sarap the play was directed by Zoran Rakočević, and the role is entrusted Jelena Djukic which will be musically supported by Bojan Peko Minic.
“This piece is a poetic reflection of one of the most significant historical figures of this area. Her shadow is present today in many socio-political discourses, from the progressive integrative experience of Helena of Savoy as the geographical and cultural link of this karst with the white world, to the epic one in which she appears as a mountain fairy who outplayed the impudent foreign dynasty with her stature and voice. Helena was a woman of flesh and blood, essentially a rebel for a better world, better people and a better society. A woman from the court who nurtured the living and half-alive, and dug up the dead.” director Zoran Rakočević.
