In an authentic bohemian atmosphere, at the National Library "Radoslav Ljumović" in Podgorica, a literary evening dedicated to the anthology of Bijelo Polje poets entitled "Love Measured Time", organized by Jovan GolubovićThe event was a true celebration of poetry, enriched by emotional recitations of verses by numerous poets from Bijelo Polje, inspiring speeches by prominent intellectuals, and impressive artistic performances.
The program was further enriched by the extraordinary interpretations of the verses performed by Slobodan Marunović, the champion of the Montenegrin National Theatre, while the musical accompaniment of the group “Mikrokozma” completed the evening's ambiance. The audience had the opportunity to experience the spirit and value of poetry created in Bijelo Polje in a special way. The poetry evening was moderated by the writer Mirko RakočevićThe anthology was discussed by professor Draško Došljak and the doctor Radoje Femic, while the verses from it were recited by the authors whose poems were included in the selection: Dino Burdzovic, Slobodan Curovic, Mirko Jovanovic i Gordan Champar.
Professor Došljak pointed out that for centuries, poetry has been a mirror of the soul of a people - its history, feelings, struggles and dreams:
"In order to navigate this vast sea of verses, in order to select pearls from the sea of poetic expressions, an anthology was conceived. Anthological poetry is not just a collection of the most beautiful poems, it is a temple of words, a treasury of human feelings, and a mirror of an epoch."
He also spoke about the universality of emotions conveyed by anthological poetry: "People, wherever and whenever they live, share basic feelings such as love, pain, happiness, sadness, and pride. Anthological poetry manages to translate these feelings into words that can touch every person, regardless of time and space. A writer may write out of a higher need, but when he creates a verse that embraces all of humanity, he has created an anthological poem."
Dr. Radoje Femić, in his presentation, pointed out the importance of each anthology in the context of the literary canon: "It is a way to start, to initiate a mission, which has yet to receive its full explication in what is an edition that counts on canonical reexamination and then re-publishing of texts that belong to the epic literary genre."
He particularly emphasized the importance of Bijelo Polje authors from the second half of the 20th century.
"I mean here, first of all, Miodrag Bulatović, Rista Ratkovića, Ćamil Sijarić", and these are the spiritual and cultural horizons that all of us, who have chosen literature as our own creative calling and life commitment, have had in mind."
At the end of his presentation, Femić expressed his respect for the efforts of the anthology's editors: "A cultural event like this had to happen much earlier, however, sometimes a situation arises where even the most capital cultural endeavors depend on the enthusiasm of individuals who carry on their own shoulders this work that should be carried by cultural institutions, not only those of Bijelo Polje, but also national institutions... one can certainly see a kind of benevolence, warmth and, explicitly, of course, love for Bijelo Polje authors, for Bijelo Polje poets."
At the end of the evening, the author of the anthology, Jovan Golubović, thanked the attendees for the great response, the speakers for their informative and inspiring presentations, as well as the organizers for the technical support of the event.
