However, now the situation is completely different: from Washington to the Vatican, from Trump to Pope Leo XIV, everyone is willing to negotiate to finally end the war. So, Putin's decision is awaited, while, in all this time, European leaders have not had the opportunity to do even - conversations on the sidelines of meetings!
European liberalism has outplayed itself somewhere, overplayed itself, counting, obviously, on the continued assistance of the USA, which is making a complete political turnaround with the change of government, although, essentially speaking, Trump's furious performance is now slowly amortizing; at first he acted as a monarch, with a series of laws and regulations that he passed every day, now, however, as a negotiator. Because, for negotiations to succeed, it is necessary for both sides to give up something.
It may sound extremely harsh, but the times demand such statements: isn't Russia currently showing the West, to a certain extent, how it works when a country colonizes? And, indeed: the deglobalization movement of the USA, the calming of the economic war against China that they themselves foolishly started, the turning their backs on Europe and above all on Ukraine, from which they are demanding that their debt be repaid, in short, all this speaks of a major crisis that they can no longer hide. The empire is now interested in the fate of every dollar it owns.!
Looking back, it is now more than clear that the 'collective West' (if, of course, such a thing exists at all or can actually exist) had no intention of entering into a total world war, the strategy was focused on weakening Russia, through expanded sanctions and isolation, however, when it was realized that this only strengthened Russia, which was homogenizing from within, the weakening of unity occurred, suddenly, the West, driven by interests, split, it was obvious that it was financially unprofitable to support Ukraine along with Israel. All the more so, the real fear comes from a justified doubt: what, then, if the fate of Ukraine awaits Europe itself in the not-so-distant future? Considering its leaders, such a dark possibility should not be completely ruled out.
In the current context, when we recall, for example, Max Scheler's opinion that Europe needs to be enlightened from within, in an effort to 'reorient Europe', it sounds too utopian, or more precisely: if the old continent can only be thought of at the level of the ideal, then it has already, in the meantime, to use Hamlet's words, become extinct from time.
Let's enter the zone of assumptions, then: it is not excluded that, intensively losing influence in the globalized world that was its model, the USA decides to replace the Democrats with Republicans, especially since their policy is such that any condemnation is somehow meaningless. In order to further justify the inconsistency of the USA, everything should be blamed on - the culprit on duty whose role has been taken by Trump. But also all his supporters whom Joe Biden called - we quote - "idiots!"
A pragmatic turn, or political inconsistency?
The idea that there is any collective West should be firmly rejected, because this misconception can be very costly. Moreover: The contemporary West is the true enemy of Europe.!
No matter how we try to look at things, the fact is that Europe is essentially and remains conservative; too open to the penetration of liberalism, it is working to undermine its own foundations, above all because this, today's concept of liberalism, has nothing to do with the ethical-subversive politics that we have, for example, in the example of Antigone.
Let us return to the absolute turn made by the USA, and recall what Dmitry Medvedev said at the beginning of the war (with all the dislike towards him, it should be quoted here): “The world awaits the collapse of the idea of an American-centric world and the emergence of new international alliances based on pragmatic criteria”. Now, aren’t we witnessing the emergence of that international alliance based on pragmatic criteria, contrary to the spirit of the collective West, which is collapsing with the end of the American-centric world, since it is now implementing a policy of deglobalization, turning inward, because the slogan - Make America great again - says everything about the stance she took.
Given the above, let's not lose sight of what is currently happening at the very top of the European Union, given the accusations directed at Von der Leyen and the affair called Fizergate. Therefore, to simplify: corrupt politics are destroying the European Union, as well as the inability of some countries to deprivilege the status they have, primarily referring to the UK, which is brexitom showed how much she believes in the very idea of Europe, above all.
Is it, in the end, only and only a reinterpretation of the great interpretations of the spirit of Europe, whose pluralism is strengthened in unity? Do we need to go through the process of re-evaluating all values again, like Nietzsche, who problematized modern values with that radical gesture? However, we will admit that this theoretical work is only romanticism, albeit guided by cold rationalism.
