The latest Montenegrin film "Obraz", directed by Nikola Vukčević, will also be screened tomorrow in Hungary at the Szeged International Film Festival, which bears the name of the Hungarian Oscar winner. Vilmosa Zsigmonda (Zsigmond Vilmos International Film Festival).
“Obraz” will be screened in the main competition program, on the opening night of the festival.

The Zsigmond Vilmos International Film Festival, which analyzes films from a cinematic perspective, is inspired by the work of Vilmos Zsigmond, whose indelible mark on the world of film is invaluable, leaving a significant impact on the global film industry, and the festival is dedicated to his greatness and authenticity in the art of film. The festival organizers believe that cinematic ideas should be evaluated in the context of the director's intentions and the overall message of the film, which gives this event special significance,” the statement said.
The main competition program, which includes “Obraz”, includes only nine films, all of which have already been noticed and highlighted on a global level. The program also includes some of the most awarded works from recent years, namely: the Franco-Mexican film “Emilia Perez” by Jacques Audiard from 2024, which won four Golden Globes and five European Film Awards, and was nominated for 13 Oscars, as well as the Irish film “Small Things Like These” Tim Milants, also from 2024, for which Emily Watson won the Silver Bear for Best Supporting Actor at last year's Berlinale. A more recent Hungarian film directed by Balint Daniel Soša "Growing Down", which premiered at the just-concluded Rotterdam International Film Festival, and the 2023 Swiss film "Blackbird, Blackbird, Blackberry", directed by Elena Navariani, Croatian film from 2024 “Good Children” Filip Peruzović which won the “Work in Progress” award at the Pula Film Festival, the 2023 Turkish “Rosinante” directed by Gunduzalpa Rain, “Holy Rosita” from Belgium, directed by Vanesa Destopa this Mexican “The Muleteer” director Izabele Kristine Fregoso.
