Although he is only 16 years old, the Bjelopoljac Lazar Lopušina He published his third poetry collection "Budi moja" (Be Mine) and announced to "Vijesti" that he would try his hand at prose writing in his next book.
The third book by a second-grade student at the "Miloje Dobrašinović" Gymnasium in Bijelo Polje was promoted at the Cultural Center, with an interesting scenography he created with his friends. Tarik Idrizović i Nina Barac, while in the music program he performed Balsa Jovanovic accompanied by a music teacher Almir Martinović.
Lopušina, as he told "Vijesti", began writing poems in elementary school, when his talent was recognized by his literature and Russian language teachers. Andrijana Marinkovic i Vera Joksimović, after which the first collection “The Bridge of Lost Love” was created.
"Two teachers, two professionals, were there for me even when I finished elementary school and selflessly continued to guide me. The first poems I wrote were about love, because for me love and poetry coincide, and I believe that someone who doesn't know how to love doesn't know how to write," he said.
Lopušina agreed that young people today are often perceived as a confused and passive generation, trapped in screens and superficial content, but that behind that image lies a voice that seeks space - especially through art.
"It is here, in music, film, literature and street aesthetics, that young people express what society often ignores: rebellion, anxiety, the search for meaning. Art becomes a weapon of silence for them, a way to be noticed in a time that does not ask them, but tells them how to be," he said, adding that institutions such as the Center for Culture, led by Edin Smailović they make the path easier for young creators.
High school senior Tarik Irizović, who hosted the program, said that with his courage, honesty, and language, he transcends his years, bringing new freshness to the literary scene.
Book reviewer, literature professor and poet Snežana Bošković pointed out that Lopušina's new collection confirms enormous progress in literary maturation.
"Poems flow from the author like a torrent, like a strong and overwhelming emotion. In doing so, he subtly restrains it, so that it comes together into a beautiful poetic whole. The poet is, in fact, a connection between the earth and the sky, and that is the space in which a wandering romantic who sings about his feelings and moods exists," she said, quoting the lyrics of the poem "Zalujblenik u ljubav" in which the young author says:
"Announce to me the smile of the day"
And the song of the dewy dawn
Drive away the thoughts that are tormenting me.
And lock me in your palaces
I will be your slave.
And when I die, build my grave.
That it says:
"Here rests a lover of love."
The poetry collection "Be Mine", as Bošković explained, "consists of 42 lyrical poems, united around a single ideological, emotional and thematic ambience."
"In addition to strong emotionality, the poems of the aforementioned author are characterized by simplicity and ease of expression, (mostly) free form, exceptionally rich vocabulary, distinct rhythm and imagery... In the poems of connected verse ("Lovely Sky", "Lost in the Shadow", "Song to the Unattainable"), the author best demonstrates his literary maturity, because to create the same requires greater skill in devising and arranging words into a poetic whole, respecting rhyme, but also knowing how to connect that piece of the cosmos within oneself with the infinity of that same cosmos outside," she said, adding that she is happy that the community is richer for another poet of irresistible talent and emotional simplicity, such as Lazar Lopušina.
The list of those whom Lopušina thanked with great emotion is long, including the academic painter Anđela Došljak, who illustrated the book. However, as he said, he owes special gratitude to his greatest supporter - his mother. Oliveri.
Speaking about his future plans, Lopušina reveals that he sees himself as a professor of Russian literature, and that he wants to help young people the way his Russian language teacher Vera Joksimović helped him in elementary school in motivating him to put his first collection on the cover.
