Young Montenegrin author Mato Uljarević won the "Zlatko Grgić" award for animated film "Harvest" at the 35th World Animated Film Festival - Animafest Zagreb, which took place from June 2 to 7, 2025 in Zagreb.
The film had its world premiere as part of the "Grand Competition - Short Film" selection, one of the three most prestigious artistic animation competitions in the world.
The jury of the Grand Short Film Competition was composed of Osman Cerfon, Spela Cadez, Ervin Gomez, Sarina Nihei i Ivana ViolenceThe jury noted that it is a "charcoal, elegantly drawn animated film in which a man struggles against a dark presence as his life is transformed through the changing images he himself has created."
The "Zlatko Grgić" Award, with a fund of €1.500, is awarded for the first film made outside of an educational institution, in honor of the famous animator and champion of the Zagreb School of Animated Film, known, among other things, for the animated series "Professor Baltazar".
Animafest Zagreb, launched in 1972 thanks to the global reputation of the authors of the Zagreb School of Animated Film, under the auspices of ASIFA, is the second oldest animated film festival in the world, right after Annecy, and is one of the leading international competitions for short and feature-length animated films.

The film "Uroš" is inspired by the life and work of Uroš Tošković. It was made with charcoal, in a completely analog technique that involves direct interventions of the author on paper. The film was supported at the first competition of the Film Center of Montenegro for co-financing the production of short animated films, as well as by the Secretariat for Culture of the Capital City. After the festival premiere, the film will also be shown on Radio and Television of Montenegro. The producers of the film are mato Uljarević, Miljan Vučelić (Protos Film) i Danilo Vujacic (DOK Production). The film is edited by Dmitar Janjušević, for image post-production Lazar Rasovic, color correction Paul Vujovic, and sound design Aleksandar Protic.
