The exhibition of photographs by Jaka Babnik "A Question of View" will open today in Podgorica, at 20 pm, at the "F64" Photography Gallery.
"Jaka Babnik is a prominent photographer, present on the Slovenian and regional photography and film scene for almost three decades. His work is characterized by careful observation, sharp observation and clear, uncompromising positions. Through work in various media and art forms, Babnik has created a compact and striking oeuvre that reflects his sensitivity to the specifics of contemporary photographic language," the statement reads.
The exhibition "A Question of Perspective" brings together a selection of works created over the last 20 years.
"The photographs in the exhibited series reflect his critical attitude towards current changes, in socio-economic circumstances, historical and ideological narratives, public spaces, religion and contemporary culture. From the early cycle, through later series, to more recent works, Babnik consistently reexamines the relationship between image and reality, identity and power, personal and collective memory," announce the organizers.
