The regional literary festival "LiTerritory" begins today in Podgorica and, organized by the Cultural and Information Center (KIC) "Budo Tomović", lasts until June 18th.
This year's ninth edition of the event will be held on the plateau of the "Slobodan Škerović" High School, starting at 20 p.m.
"The festival has been recognized as an important platform for presenting authors from the countries of the former Yugoslavia and promoting new literary practices, becoming, over the years, one of the important meeting places for contemporary writers, critics and readers," KIC points out.
This year's "LiTerritory" is entitled "Literature after AI: New Literary Practices" and focuses on current developments in the region's literary scene, with guest writers, critics, and editors who work within it.
"Special emphasis is placed on new poetics and creative practices developed by the younger generation of writers, the issue of creativity in the era of rapid development of digital technology and artificial intelligence, as well as the impact that all of this has on reading, reception and, ultimately, the future of literature," say the organizers.
This year's festival brings together critics, theorists, writers and editors from Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, reveals the editor of the KIC literary program, Valentina Knežević.
A representative overview of the most important new literary practices in the region, over the three festival days, will be provided by discussions in which the following will participate: Vladimir Arsenic, Ivana Dražić, Nedžad Ibrahimović i Vasko Raičević, with writers Anom Vučković, Larom Mitrakovic, Melida Travančić i Ilija Đurović.
The final segment of the festival is dedicated to the Young Writers' Forum, a group that has been operating within the Budo Tomović Cultural Institute for ten years and brings together prominent young authors from Montenegro.
The ninth edition of "LiTeritoria" was included in the program of the "Podgorica Cultural Summer" event.
