With the desire to be a space where the literature of the region is not only presented, but also understood more deeply and interconnected, the Regional Literary Festival "LiTeritorija" was launched, emphasized the director of the Cultural and Information Center (KIC) "Budo Tomović" at the opening of the ninth edition. Aida Batilović.

The festival opened on Monday evening on the plateau of the "Slobodan Škerović" High School in Podgorica, and for years now it has been shaping itself as a significant regional space for dialogue, reflection and presentation of contemporary literary trends, as pointed out by the KIC, within its regular literary program, under the editorship of Valentine Knezevic, the event is organized.

"LiTerritory is today an important 'literary territory' in our city and this year it is part of the Podgorica Cultural Summer event," Batilović pointed out, emphasizing the importance of considering literary topics in light of the contemporary moment.

"Because, only in this way can literature remain vital, critical and alive," she said.

The theme of this year's ninth "LiTeritoria" is "Literature after AI: New Literary Practices" and represents a kind of call to reconsider the changes that the rapid development of digital technologies and artificial intelligence brings to literary creation, but also to the very act of reading, interpreting and experiencing a literary work.

"In a time when the boundaries between traditional poetics and technological tools are increasingly blurred, "LiTerritory" has offered a space in which these processes are analyzed and critically questioned," he points out.

In line with this reflection, a discussion and reading was organized on the first evening of the festival, featuring renowned authors, critics, and editors, as follows: Ivana Dražić, Nedžad Ibrahimović, Melida Travančić i Vasko Raicevic, while moderating the conversation Vladimir Arsenic, literary critic and theorist.

"The discussion focused on transformations of literary language, experimental practices of younger authors, the ethics of writing in the digital age, and the changes that new technologies bring to the dynamics of the author-text-reader relationship," the KIC said.

Tonight's program "Conversation and Reading", at 20 p.m., also on the plateau in front of the "Slobodan Škerović" Gymnasium, will feature Vladimir Arsenić and Ana Vučkovićand at 21 p.m. there will be more talk about the KIC Young Writers' Forum "Budo Tomović". On that occasion, Arsenić will discuss the work of the Forum with its prominent members, including: Nikola Corac, Marko Stanojkovski, Marija Vujošević i Sofia Drakulovic.

"This year's "LiTerritory" brings together relevant participants from Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, confirming primarily its openness to different poetics, generational sensibilities and theoretical frameworks. The ninth edition is also intended to point out that literature, although exposed to strong social and technological changes, does not cease to be a space of freedom and resistance, as well as a subtle reexamination of the rapidly changing world," says the KIC.
