In the large hall of the Tivat Cultural Center, to the applause of the audience, the play "Contra mundum", a new play produced by the local Cultural Center, premiered last night. The play is inspired by the autobiography of the great Spanish artist Salvador Dali, and the concept and direction of the production Veljko Mićunović.

Salvador Dali's eccentric appearance and shocking attitudes have divided public opinion, but they have also made him famous. A piece by the Tivat Cultural Center examines whether Dali was a genius or a charlatan, and whether his artwork and public engagement were a prophetic picture of the contemporary world or just a mere diversion from every rule, order, ideology...

The dramaturgy of this play was done by Slobodan Obradović, is a composer Nevena Glušica, scenography Sven i Ivana Jonka, she did the costumes Marija Marković Milojev, and the costume design assistant is Milena Kostic Jojic.

In the play whose character Dalia masterfully played Ozren Grabaric, and with him on stage were musicians Aljosa Zakic (trumpet), Djordje Kujundzic (saxophone), Kosta Vukasinovic (trombone), Anja Riđešić (piano), Marko Curcic (double bass), Nemanja Tasic (drum).

The play "Contra mundum" is the third premiere of the Tivat Cultural Center this year and the 42nd title in the rich production opus of this institution. Very satisfied with what was seen on stage, but especially with the audience's reactions, after the premiere of the play "Contra mundum", was the director of the Tivat Cultural Center, Goran Božović who expects that this performance of theirs will also be a hit in the region.

"This is our premiere collaboration with almost the entire team of authors and participants of this play. Extraordinary direction by Veljko Mićunović and a brilliant role by Ozren Grabarić. The premiere collaboration with them is a perfect match and I can say, a great return of Veljko Mićunović to Montenegro. We got an extraordinary play, a play that is interesting, attractive, exotic, eccentric, intriguing, avant-garde like Dali himself was. We got an intelligent play, without the decadence of the modern world. We got a play that sends many messages that can be a guide to help every person in the audience who follows the play. You saw the extraordinary reaction of the audience. I believe that we got a play with high artistic achievements, a festival play with which we will shine in the region again," commented Božović, adding that "Contra mundum" also confirms that "CZK Tivat is capable of standing shoulder to shoulder with the best theaters in the region and competing with them."

Actor Ozren Grabarić says that Salvador Dali is still a motivation for other creators in various forms of art, including theater.

"He was inspiring to us, he said, he broke down the doors of reason and let dreams dance on the walls of the galleries. It really serves as inspiration. It's like a dream, the play is like a dream. We didn't want to play a biographical story. That was silly to us, but we really used it as a blank canvas, like an empty desert where unpredictable, crazy things happen. It's like a sandbox where children play. That game, dreams, that dream, that playfulness, creativity, it seems to me that there is less and less of that in today's world, where the system shapes us into uniform people. The system is afraid of creative people, of greatness. It's the easiest to control uniform people. When you are creative, your own, when you are who you really are, when you show your authenticity, then at some point it becomes a danger. I hope that that playful, curious child won't disappear in me. So Dali connected well to my intimate story, that this creativity must be let out of your head. That's life in a way, "Life energy, that creativity," said Grabarić.
