Lori balton, one of Hollywood's most prominent film location scouts, whose career, spanning more than three decades, has been marked by work on numerous cult films in collaboration with the biggest names in world cinema, recently visited Montenegro and on that occasion assessed that our country has significant potential to become an attractive destination for foreign productions.
The visit, implemented at the initiative of the Film Center of Montenegro (FCCG), represents an important step towards strengthening the country's international visibility as an attractive film destination, the institution said in a statement.
During her several-day stay, Balton, accompanied by representatives of the Film Center as her host, visited key natural and cultural-historical locations across the country: the Bay of Kotor, the Lovćen and Durmitor national parks, historic urban areas such as Perast, Kotor and Cetinje, as well as new urban centers such as Porto Montenegro and Portonovo.
"Impressed by the diversity of landscapes in a small area, Lori Balton pointed out that Montenegro has extraordinary visual potential for different genres of filmmaking," reports FCCG.
Lori Balton's direct insight into what Montenegro has to offer, they add, represents a significant opportunity to position the country in the network of global film locations, especially at a time when there is growing interest in foreign filming in Montenegro.
"This is my first time in this part of the world, and I can say that Montenegro has blown me away! The landscapes are spectacular, the locations authentic, and everything is easily accessible. It's rare to find such diverse views in such a small territory," said Balton.
Lori Balton is a renowned name in Hollywood, a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, where she is also a member of the Production Design Committee, and active in professional associations and educational platforms around the world. Her opinions and recommendations have a great influence on the selection of locations for big-budget film projects.
Lori Balton's visit was realized in cooperation with the Film Center of Montenegro and the Association of Film Producers and Directors of Montenegro, with the support of the National Tourism Organization of Montenegro, as well as the tourist organizations of Herceg Novi and Cetinje.
