“Movies under the stars” in Njegoš Park

Although this year's 10th Dzada Film Fest officially closed last night, Podgorica residents will have the opportunity to enjoy outdoor film screenings for the next two days. The September edition of the film festival "Films Under the Stars" will be held on September 9th and 10th in Njegošev Park, and the repertoire includes two interesting films.

The film “Hotel Pula”, directed by Andrei Korovlev, according to the script Ivan Turković Krnjak na Osnov motive novel “Pool”, author Vladimir Stojsavljević, will be shown tomorrow at 20 p.m.

“The year is 1995: Mahir (38), a refugee from Bosnia, has been living in a Pula hotel named after the city for several years. His days are monotonous and empty, and his past is unknown. One warm night at the beginning of summer, Mahir sees Una, a young woman from Pula, for the first time on the beach, not far from the hotel. This sudden encounter will inspire hope in him, until the past catches up with him. The film takes place in the hotel and surrounding areas of Pula, with an emphasis on the critical time and social changes during the 90s. The film portrays Pula through the lens of the documentary style of director Korovlev, who in his earlier work often depicts the social and cultural spheres of his hometown,” the description states.

The roles in the film are played by: Nika Grbelja, Ermin Bravo, Petra B. Blašković, Nika Ivančić, Maja Izetbegović, Romina Vitasović Lučić, Jasmin Telalović, Dado Ćosić, Lav Novosel, Pavao Novak, Rok Juričić, Luka Juričić i Zoran Djordjevic.

A day later, the program will feature the film "Il Boemo", by Czech director and screenwriter Peter Vaclav, at the same place, also at 20 p.m.

“The film 'Il Boemo' is a historical drama about the life of a forgotten composer Josef Mysliveček, better known in 18th-century Italy under the nickname Il Boemo. Also Czech, Mysliveček, the son of a wealthy miller from Prague, after trying several professions, decides to become a composer. He goes to Italy, where, by a combination of fortunate circumstances, he becomes a musical star of Italian theaters and courts, as well as Mozart's mentor. He composed opera serias, oratorios, symphonies, concertos and chamber music. He dies early, of syphilis, in complete poverty," the description reads.

The roles in the film are played by: Vojtch Dyk, Elena Radonichic, Barbara Ronchi i Lana Vlady, Diego Pagotto, Alberto Cracco i Christian Dieterle.

The "Films Under the Stars" review is part of the Podgorica Cultural Summer program, and is organized in cooperation with the European House in Podgorica, admission is free.
