“'Stećakland' takes us through the exciting world of stećak tombstones and their history, told by the people to whom these stećak tombstones were dedicated, and who are in a way the silent guardians of their biographies,” the announcement states.
The play features: Selma Alispahic, Aldin Omerovic, Elma Jukovic, Nedim Dzinovic, Enes Kozlicic i Anja Kraljevic.
"Do you know your story? The one, when someone asks about you - what will they say? What stories remain behind us? Does the truth remain, or the good wishes of tearful relatives? When all the veils fall, all the colorful lies with which we deceive ourselves and everyone around us, building an image of ourselves the way we think it should look and when we completely strip ourselves of all romanticized versions of ourselves - who is the person looking at us from the mirror? 'StećakLand' invites you to step in a space where titles, awards, achievements and memories collapse in front of the chains of truth..., it always has several versions, even though it is only one. They have been standing for centuries, and now they will speak. Welcome to 'StećaLand', a brave and innovative theater show that brings us to the very limits of identity, memory and myth. Do we know? Does she know? Which one is it? her truth", the words are Vedran Fajković, playwright and acting director of the Chamber Theatre 55.
The "StećakLand" project was developed under the coordination of the Association for the Digitization of Cultural Heritage DIGI.BA, and in partnership with NoHo Production from Ireland, the Archaeological Institute of Belgrade, the National Museum of Montenegro, Chamber Theater 55 and the "Mak Dizdar" Foundation, which is implemented within the "Creative Europe" program, under the umbrella of the European Commission for support to culture and the audiovisual sector.
