"This exhibition is not only about the past, but also about universal values that are equally needed today - empathy, courage and determination in opposition. Every photograph, every name and every story in this exhibition testifies to the strength of individuals who, in times of revisionism and denial, chose truth and resistance," the announcement states.

With this presentation, through six thematic units, the author team consisting of Dubravka Stojanovic, Igor Stiks and Dejan Ubović, conveys that their struggle is not over - by giving voice to the heroes, anti-war movements and independent media of that era, it continues through memory and remembrance.

"By remembering these people, we remind ourselves that society is not only based on what happened to it, but also on what was chosen not to happen within it," the statement reads.
