Art that breathes white: An evening in honor of Cvetko Lainović

A special place in the program of the Festival of Arts, Science and Culture (FUNK) of the University of Montenegro is occupied by an evening dedicated to one of the most important Montenegrin painters, Cvetko LainovićThe exhibition dedicated to his work "Between the Lines" will be opened at the Rectorate of the University of Montenegro tomorrow, at 19 pm, followed by a panel discussion.

The exhibition will be opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Montenegro, Prof. M.Sc. Marko Markovic, and an art historian and journalist will speak about the artist's work Maja Zivanovic.

At the panel, which starts at 7:30 PM, Maja Živanović, an art historian and journalist who had the opportunity to interview him, and art historian Petrica Duletić. Dr. Milenko Lainović will look back at the artist's life in the Old Town, his childhood and love for certain hobbies, while the painter will Filip Jankovic share memories from joint exhibitions and friendship with Cvetko Lainović.

The evening's moderator will be a journalist. Jelena Kontić.

Cvetko Lainović belongs to the generation of artists of the second half of the 20th century who marked painting in the Yugoslav region. He was an authentic and original phenomenon, remembered as a painter of white spaces and a draftsman of fragile linear creations. The exhibition of works from private collections, set up at the Rectorate of the University of Montenegro, presents a selection of carefully selected works that trace Lainović's artistic path, maturation and stylistic changes.

The exhibition will last until November 28th.
