Dragan Koprivica will serve as acting director of the Podgorica Cultural and Information Center "Budo Tomović".
This was confirmed to the News from several sources.
The decision was made at today's meeting of the KIC Council, which consists of: president Ana Đelević, and members Vanja Popović, Zoran Leković, Gorica Braunović and Valentina Knežević as an employee member.
The results of the vote and the course of the KIC Council session are not known. Koprivica is expected to start work tomorrow.
Tonight, the MAKADO Chamber Drama Festival opens at KIC "Budo Tomović" at 20 pm.
Koprivica was born in 1953 in Nikšić.
He graduated from the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade, Department of Russian Language and Literature, in 1976. He also completed postgraduate studies at the same faculty, and in 1983 defended his master's thesis "Post-war literary criticism of Chekhov's short story in the Serbo-Croatian language". He defended his doctoral dissertation, "Reception of Leonid Leonov's work in the area of the Serbo-Croatian language", at the Faculty of Philosophy in Nikšić. He writes prose, poetry, plays, TV scripts and aphorisms.
He is the recipient of the highest state award - the Thirteenth of July Award for Lifetime Achievement, and has also been awarded the status of a distinguished cultural creator.
He has received several awards for his creativity in various literary forms. He is the winner of the "Branko Ćopić" award - for humor and satire, the "Risto Ratković" award - for poetry, and the "Isak Samokovlija" award - for short stories.
He is a retired full professor.
He was once in the Socialist People's Party (SNP) after which he moved to the Democratic Front, more than 10 years ago.
