New novel "Zera luče" Jasenka Lalović will be presented on November 26th at 19 pm in the Great Hall of the Cultural Center in Tivat.
The program organized by the Tivat City Library includes the author Jasenka Lalović, Marija Starcevic i Nataša Janović in the role of moderator. Jasenka Lalović is one of the most widely read writers, both in our country and in the Tivat City Library.
Born in Petrovac, where she finished elementary school, this year she traditionally began the presentation of her latest novel, "Zera luče", in her hometown. The Tivat City Library, as part of the November Days 2025, is organizing the promotion of this Paštrov novel for the Tivat audience.
After the trilogy "Hills of Pelima" and the novel "Bastadur", Jasenka Lalović wrote her fifth work, the novel "Zera luče".
“This novel was written differently than the previous ones. It seems to me that it was written in parallel from the first letter of my first novel, because what was the guiding principle for “Zera luče” is that tiny bit of light, hope, faith that moves us, that we survive with, that we move forward with, that gives meaning to every duration,” Lalović wrote. She worked on the book for about a year, however, the author says that the destinies she tried to encompass took her back decades.
“Zera luče” is written as a novel about the choices that shape us, about trusting in life despite the failures, about a spark of light, “zera luče”, enough to bring us back to ourselves. The novel addresses multi-generational relationships, identity searches, and the Mediterranean setting, and is aimed at readers who love personal stories and culturally grounded prose.
