This year, for the seventh time in a row, the Belgrade Drama Theatre is hosting The RUTA Festival, which is traditionally held from December 1st to 6th. During the six festival days, the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy the highest quality productions from leading theater companies from the region.

As part of this festival, the theater play “Contra Mundum”, directed by Veljko Mićunović, the latest production of the Tivat Cultural Center inspired by the autobiography "The Secret Life of Salvador Dali", will be performed on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at the Belgrade Drama Theater.

“His eccentric appearance and shocking public attitudes divided opinion, but they also made him famous… Salvador Dali. Genius or charlatan?

A prophetic picture of the modern world or a mere diversion from every rule, order, ideology...?

"Contra Mundum is not a play based on the biography of a great artist, but a game with the riddle of the art of life in this world," are the words of the director.

The direction and concept are by Veljko Mićunović, the dramaturgy Slobodan Obradović, music Nevena Glušica, scenography Sven i Ivana Jonka, costume design Marija Marković Milojev and costume design assistant Milena Kostic Jojic.

They will play on stage Ozren Grabaric with musicians Aljoša Zakić (trumpet), Djordje Kujundzic (saxophone), Kosta Vukašinović (trombone), Anja Riđešić (piano), Marko Ćurčić (double bass), Nemanja Tasić (drum).

In its three festival appearances so far, this play has won twelve awards.

With this guest appearance, the Tivat Cultural Center, as the Montenegrin representative in this regional union, will close this year's edition of the RUTA Festival, marking the end of another successful season of cooperation, artistic exchange and cultural networking of theaters across the region.
