The play "Hero of the Nation" will be performed on the stage of the Nikšić Theater tonight, at 19 p.m., in honor of the success achieved at the 30th Yugoslav Theater Festival in Užice, where the play won six "Ardalion" awards.
The six Ardalion awards will be presented right after the performance, and the awards will be presented by the director of the Užice National Theatre, Jelena Vasovic, while the director of the Nikšić Theater will address the audience, Radinko Krulanovic.
"We would like to remind you that at this year's edition of the festival in Užice, the Nikšić Theater achieved one of the greatest successes in its history, winning as many as six festival awards. At the "Bez prevoda" Festival in Užice, the Nikšić Theater won a total of six awards: for best play, best direction, best female role, best set design, best young actor, as well as a special award for dramatic monologue," the statement states.
The text of the play is signed by Ivan M. Lalic, while he adapted and directed it Milan Neskovic. He signs the scenography Vesna Sušić, costume Margaret Schobot, and music by the groups Autogenic training and Asylum seekers. "Through a powerful story about family, society and human closeness, the play reminds us that true heroism lies in understanding and empathy for our fellow human beings. 'Be a hero of your family first, not a hero of your nation' is the message the play powerfully sends to the audience," the description states.
Tickets are free and can be picked up at the Nikšić Theater box office.
