The exhibition "Archives, Sketches and Connections - Laboratory of the Art Collection of Non-Aligned Countries" will open on Thursday, January 15th at the Gallery of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Montenegro (MCAM) at 19 pm.
The exhibition in Podgorica is a reflection on the curatorial and research project conceived and implemented by Anita Ćulafić, Marina Čelebić, Nada Baković i Natalija Vujošević.
"Initiated in the fall of 2021, the project is focused on researching and re-actualizing the legacy of the Gallery of Art of Non-Aligned Countries," the organizers remind.
The exhibition presents new productions and gifts received within the framework of project collaborations, in dialogue with works from the Collection of Art of Non-Aligned Countries, as well as archival materials and rituals that connect joint work, camaraderie, and solidarity.
"The exhibition program includes workshops, talks and lectures, along with the presentation of the bilingual publication 'Archives, Sketches and Connections - Laboratory of the Art Collection of Non-Aligned Countries. During the four years of work, a research program has been launched, a significant number of international collaborations have been achieved, and numerous exhibition and educational projects have been implemented. Within the framework of the dialogue with artists, new productions have been developed based on research into the Gallery's archives, as well as the continuity of gifts built up by the fund of the former Gallery of Art of Non-Aligned Countries 'Josip Broz Tito'," the press release on the occasion of the exhibition states.
The MSUCG reminds that an initiative has been launched by the members of the Laboratory for the procedure of declaring the Collection of Art of Non-Aligned Countries a movable cultural asset of national importance.
