The cult Montenegrin and Yugoslav television series "Đekna has not died yet, and we don't know where she will go", directed by the legendary Živka Nikolić, which together with Miodrag Karadžić, wrote the script, will soon experience its own theatrical production, or deconstruction.
Namely, rehearsals for a new theater play - "Đekna" - have begun at the Royal Theater "Zetski dom", directed by a prominent theater director of the younger generation. Mirko Radonjić. The Cetinje Theater also announces that the premiere is scheduled for March 9th of this year.
"The play brings a contemporary stage reading of the cult television series by Živko Nikolić and Miodrag Karadžić, deconstructing its recognizable humor and social patterns. Through a combination of comedy and melancholy, the play questions the humor of mentality, patriarchal patterns and hidden matriarchy," the Royal Theatre "Zetski dom" announced on social media.
The team of authors, in addition to director Radonjić, is also completed by assistant directors. Nina Martinović i Damjan Pejanovic. The composer is responsible for the music. Ilija Gajević, and the visual identity of the show is shaped by the costume designer Lina Lekovic and set designer Sasa Andjelic.
The cast includes young actors: Vule Marković, Jelena Laban, Jelica Vukčević, Masa Labudović, Pavle Novaković i Anja Misovic.
