For example Yanis Varoufakis We learn what the AI deepfake doppelganger is for: to fake speeches on a current topic and plant them with leading political activists, non-establishment economists, world-renowned intellectuals and philosophers who are recognized as subversive, a subversive voice that seeks to 'defamiliarize' young people in the sense that it should succeed in weaning them off standardized thinking.
We are already in a time when denial will be meaningless, the public will be the arbiter who will decide whether a personality is suitable for the media oligarchs or not.
Tramp once fell out of favor with Facebook, now, since the head of that platform was present at the inauguration, he could post whatever he wanted, no matter how he phrased it: in a vulgarly juicy, or macho sexist way. Basically: he wouldn't be excluded, on the contrary, he would get millions of fake profiles as part of the support for his aggressive Republican campaign. (The very way he turns a deaf ear to issues related to Greenland, sheds light on him as a serious "overstepping of personality", the use of force instead of dialogue not only does not lead to a solution, but is guaranteed to deepen the already deep crises of an increasingly polarized world.)
Let's assume how far the filth of election campaigns, which are very low and unworthy of anything serious, will go. However, from now on, options for destroying someone's credibility are opening up, and this will be a tactic elaborated to the maximum. This is entering an era of indifference to the ontological status of truth. We will all choose what we believe in, regardless of whether it is fact or simulation, lie or truth, etc. Conspiracy theories will permeate the structure of everyday life, therefore: everything will be in the reign of contingency. Absolute relativization of things, which will be accompanied by secessions, complete porosity of the community, active alienation.
However, as for the deepfake AI doppelgangers, their generators are very cunning, because they work in such a way that Varoufakis sometimes seemed very convincing to himself, sometimes, on the other hand, completely insane, while he incendiaryly preaches something that, otherwise, he would never say. It is a subtle, nuanced mixture of very analytical diagnoses and extreme nonsense, which is an attempt to present a famous figure from the intellectual world as a split subject, a cracked ratio, a schizoid narrator who moves between extremes. For example, in a staged interview we say: I am completely in favor of Trump polluting Venezuela and taking away their oil, but I am not in favor of the way Trump treats migrants and Hispanics in America. The point is this: to show an engaged critic talking helplessly about anything and everything, incoherently and extremely confusedly, with the obligatory radicalization of his stance on very sensitive topics, such as: Greenland should be a space for military bases, where various experiments and exploitations will be carried out, because this is a way to launch bio-war and eco-war against the enemy, not only nuclear and the one we had the opportunity to see in Gaza, which was trampled and ethically cleansed, which is also happening in the West Bank.
While giving a lengthy interview to a Russian television station, Putin were briefly allowed to see his AI doppelganger imitate him, the first reaction was an instinctive flinch as a sign of disbelief and astonishment. Unlike the Russian leader-for-life who has no opposition, Trump has had the opportunity to see Hollywood actors imitate him, and he particularly stood out Alec Baldwin, however, the situation is completely different now, so that this type of television entertainment is not prohibited, but many have assessed that it is still unprofitable (since he won a second term, Eva Longoria packed her bags and left America with her family, at least that was her official statement on platform X at the time, unless she changed her mind in the meantime, like Sean Penn who, with the beginning of the war in Ukraine, was of the opinion to take a rifle and immediately go to the Ukrainian front, but quickly changed his mind and gave up, putting away the non-existent rifle, finding it more useful to work as an artist).
The misuse of artificial intelligence as a subterfuge serves to make one person, be it Varoufakis or Tomorrow, Žižek, Tariq Ali, like many others, are portrayed in the light of a crazed fundamentalist who comes out with previously uncharacteristic views on current issues; the problem is the impossibility of defense because such videos become viral, and enemies use them by quickly placing and spreading them online as propaganda material: now, every extreme German right-winger can justify the persecution of a Greek economist because he vigorously opposed the genocide in Gaza, which, in turn, was welcomed by the German Chancellor Friedrich Mertz recognizing that someone must do that “dirty work” in the name of civilization.
Varoufakis is undoubtedly right: in technofeudalism, the neoliberal individual is dead, now artificial tools can propagandize everything to him, with no defense possible because, simply put, if you become a victim of such a dangerous game of adoption, who can you turn to, and aren't you in the position of Joseph K, but now in a digitalized bureaucracy and capitalism in the cloud?
It will virtually cause a global emergency, not because it will lead to its breakdown and chaos (Baudrillard failed here: the catastrophe will not break out in the virtual world, on the contrary, only the virtual will collapse the world so that it will perish), on the contrary, when the reality of the virtual is fully established, no one will believe in reality anymore (otherwise, we still only physically reside in conventional reality, mentally we are in the diaspora of the network).
I wrote about a photo in which EU leaders are depicted in the White House hallway like freshmen waiting to be called for an exam by their mentor Donald Trump, not knowing that it is the creation of an AI tool, which is increasingly managing to be more real than reality, a new reality after which it is completed. The sooner everything can become reality, in the near future we may have - a simulation of a world war, or an epidemic of something unknown in distant China, an exodus of millions of migrants, all of which unequivocally means that truth is, literally, subjected to programming, the realization of a software reality. So: the engineering of truth against truth for the purpose of controlling control itself.
Technological progress has always been abused, so drones that were supposed to be used to distribute medicine and food to the elderly and infirm (such was the narrative that accompanied their creation), are now 'kamikazes', the main weapon for generating mass death, killers of apartment blocks and civilians. Especially when we hear that Neuralink and the brain implant will be used to recover people who have suffered a severe stroke, will that really be the case, or is it a sign of the end of language, speech, the body, and man disappearing within the boundaries of biotechnology and technopocalypse?
Since social life takes place on so-called social networks, profiles are psychologically described, as no one is the owner of their visual identity anymore (a consequence of the general production on networks and platforms), and therefore no one will be spared from being adopted and transformed into compromised choreography: a minister at a night bar or a priest in sexy lingerie are just some of the scenes that will go viral, followed by millions of those who constantly share something online, thus causing the capital in the cloud to grow and pour into the technofeud that profits from our idleness.
