New book by a Montenegrin writer Miraš Martinović "Written in Time" was recently published by the Institute for Textbooks and Teaching Aids (ZUNS) Podgorica.
"Unlike the previous books by this writer of poetry, stories and novels, this one is completely different, composed of various literary forms: essays on books, writers and painters, testimony about the great artists that Martinović met in Herceg Novi and other places and cities, and there are also events that the author believed should be written down and thus leave a trace about them," the publisher's statement states.
The texts represented in the book were written over a period of a quarter of a century. ZUNS also reveals that the book begins Lalić, and it ends Kadare, in addition to which, on about 270 pages, among others, were found: Danilo Kiš, Mirko Kovač, Dimitrije Popović, Stevan Račković, Ali Podrimja, Dušan Kostić, Radovan Zogović, Mak Dizdar, Vojo Stanić, Zuvdija Hodžić, Radomir Andrić, Reflik Ličina, Agim Vinca, Mustafa Canka, Bogdan Šekler, Velimir Milošević, Mladen Lampar, Jevrem Brković, Petar Gudelj, Ratko Vujošević, Vjenceslav Čižek, Marko Vešović, Žarko Milišić, Esad Kočan, Milika Pavlović, Milorad Popović and others...
The afterword, which is found at the end, is signed by a Croatian writer Stijepo Mijović Kočan.
"Dedicated to his literary calling and humanitarian mission throughout his life, Miraš Martinović diligently collected everything he published about writers, books, people and events, and he also preserved what others wrote about his work... A book like this has a doubly positive role. Repeatedly and between the two covers, we have collected opinions about numerous books, people and events, and at the same time we have additional knowledge about the author's life and work," he pointed out.
He also reveals what made a special impression on him.
"The fact that (Martinović) is abandoning the otherwise natural and necessary chronological order of the creation and publication of his literary works, giving priority to two exceptional writers: Mihailo Lalić at the beginning, and Ismail Kadare at the end of this book," stated Mijović Kočan.
The book "Written in Time" was worked on and prepared for publication by the editor Jadranka Đerković and editor-in-chief of the Institute for Textbooks and Teaching Aids Radula Novović.
