Francophonie as a concept that is constantly being enriched

The Month of Francophonie will traditionally be celebrated this March, throughout Montenegro, with rich and diverse programs dedicated to the French language and the cultures of the Francophone world.

Film, music, literature, entertainment, board games, exchange of ideas, animation, master classes, are just some of the areas that, with their diverse repertoire, complete the event organized by the French Language Institute, and a detailed program will be presented today in Podgorica, at a press conference.

The French Institute states that the question of what Francophonie is is often asked and responds that there are numerous definitions.

"It is said to represent a group of all individuals for whom French is their first or second language, a space or a community. However, Francophonie is above all a cultural diversity, a way of thinking, a set of shared values, but also an expression of every individuality, every peculiarity. In essence, it is a rich and multifaceted concept that is constantly developing, enriching and building. Day after day, through differences and diversity, it is defined and redefined again and again. Francophonie is adaptable, it fits in, shapes and reshapes... In short, it is alive," the team of the French Institute of Montenegro emphasizes in their message, with the message that diversity lies in complementarity.

The French Ambassador to Montenegro says that Francophonie builds bridges between cultures and brings people together around common values, and that it is a creation, inspiration and aspiration. An Mari Maske.

"From Europe to the Pacific, across Africa and America, La Francophonie allows us to discover each other, better understand each other and exchange experiences. Or, more precisely, we should speak of francophonies in the plural, connected frames of reference that offer a unique space of freedom through our appropriation of the French language, universal in its reach and rich in its multiplicity: the fifth world language, with more than 321 million speakers worldwide. Being part of La Francophonie means looking at wider, bigger, more colorful and richer horizons," the ambassador emphasized in a message on the occasion of the start of the event.

The Prime Minister of Montenegro also sent a symbolic message. Milojko Spajic who stated that this event also celebrates the strong and lasting ties that connect Montenegro with France, as well as with the large family of Francophone peoples.

"Through its partnership with the International Organization of Francophonie (OIF), Montenegro not only confirms its belonging to the European cultural space, but also actively contributes to the promotion of peace, dialogue and linguistic diversity. Our cooperation shows that shared values ​​transcend borders and build bridges to the future," said the Prime Minister.

Ambassador Maska adds that Montenegro has been an observer member of the International Organization of La Francophonie since 2010.

"This, the 56th edition of Francophonie Month, celebrated across the country through film, debates, literature, diverse programs and, of course, music, allows us to come together in this chosen, multidimensional space. So, let your accents be heard, let your own Francophonie speak, we invite you to join the celebration," she said.
