Ibzenov's poem “Per Gint” in Tivat and Dubrovnik

The first theatrical co-production of the Tivat Cultural Center and the Marin Držić Theater, the play "Per Gint" based on the text, premiered at the Marin Držić Theater in Dubrovnik on Wednesday evening. Henrik Ibsen, and directed Paola Tišljarić.

"This dramatic poem in five acts by the celebrated Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen, a masterpiece of world literature, unusually and humorously, yet deeply explores man's virtues, vices and follies embodied in the character of Per Gint. Based on Norwegian folklore and Ibsen's imaginative inventions, the drama, imbued with poetic mysticism and romanticism, follows the worldly wanderings of the main character who finds literally everything on his journey, except himself," Tišljarić wrote.

The dramaturgy and adaptation are by Antonela TosicThe author team also includes: Irena King (scenography), Ana Mikulic (costume design), Hot Dragojevic (music and sound design), Quiet Brautovic (design of video projection and video announcement), Nikolina Kuzmic (paintings on the set design), Christmas tree Grljevic, Karmen Strelka i Anton Svaljek (master tailors), jozo Martic (making stylish shoes), Ivana Bald (headwear production), Marine Vukasovic (making props and horns), and Ivana Beauty (inspection).

The play features: Alen Liverić (By Gint), Branimir You will see Flick (The caster shoots), Mirej Stanic (Aase), Miloš Kašćelan (Mladić, Fellah), Gabriela Redzic (Solveig), Edi Jertec (The Old Man of Dover, The Traveler), Gloria Soletic (Woman in Green), Bojan Beribaka i Miloš Kascelan (court trolls), Dorian Vicic (Mister Cotton, Begriffenfeldt), Nikola Rados (Skinny, Huhu), Bojan Beribaka (Husein), Nika Weasel (Anitra), and members of the Linđo Folklore Ensemble and the Čilipi Cultural and Artistic Association as wedding guests.

The premiere of the play “Per Gint” in Tivat is planned for August 23rd at the local International Festival of Mediterranean Theatre Purgatory. Repeat performances after the premiere in Dubrovnik are scheduled for April 3rd, 15th and 16th.
