The regional theater festival RUTA is once again bringing a top-notch theater program to Tivat, where the second edition of this significant cultural event will be held from April 19th to 24th.
After a successful premiere year, the Tivat Cultural Center is once again hosting the Regional Union of Theatres festival - RUTA TIVAT 2026.
During six festival evenings, the audience will have the opportunity to watch carefully selected and award-winning performances of contemporary regional production.
The festival will be officially opened on Sunday, April 19th with the play "The Bald Singer", directed by Jagoš Marković, produced by the Tivat Cultural Center. The following evening, April 20th, the audience will have the opportunity to see the play "Mothers" directed by Rhine Rac, produced by the Ulysses Theatre from Zagreb, while the third festival evening is reserved for the Ljubljana City Theatre and the play "Nora" directed by Nela Vitošević.
On the fourth day, April 22nd, the play "Šindler's Elevator" by the Chamber Theatre 55 Sarajevo will be performed on stage, directed by Kokan Mladenovic, and on April 23rd, the comedy "Bug in the Ear" directed by Sinisa Evtimova, performed by the Skopje Drama Theatre.
The festival will close on April 24th with Jagoš Marković's play "Wild Meat", produced by the Belgrade Drama Theatre, which will round out this year's edition of RUTE.
For the performances from Ljubljana and Skopje, subtitled translation into Montenegrin is provided for easier viewing. Every evening of the festival, after the performance, a round table will be organized with the author's team and the ensemble of the performance, led by a journalist. Vanja Kovačević.
RUTA brings together six renowned theaters from the region: Belgrade Drama Theater, Drama Theater Skopje, Ljubljana City Theater, Ulysses Theater Zagreb, Chamber Theater 55 Sarajevo, and the Tivat Cultural Center.
